Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Air Terminal, often referred to simply as Gwalior Airport, is named after Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia and is a civil enclave. It is located at the Maharajpur Air Force Station, which is about 10 kilometers to the northeast of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The airport is one of the four major airports in the state.

The Gwalior Air Base is the only operational base that provides support to the Indian Air Force with two operational runways. The second runway was conceptualized in 2006 and construction began in 2009. It became operation the following year in October.

Flight Information

Air India operates scheduled flights from Gwalior to Mumbai and Agra. In addition, Ventura Airconnect operated non-scheduled flights from this airport. Air India also operates flights to Udaipur, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Bhuj, Delhi, and Rajpur.

The airport has a single domestic terminal with one boarding gate for the various flights. The total capacity of this terminal is 100 each for departures and arrivals. Spread over an area of 1,600 square meters, the terminal has 2 check-ins and one security counter.

Traveling Around

The bus stand is located less than 10 kilometers from the Gwalior Airport and can be reached by taxis, which are available from the airport. Likewise, the railway station is a short distance away and travelers can continue their journeys either by train or bus.
