12801 - Purushottam Express

The Purushottam Express 12801 is a daily superfast train that runs between Puri in Odisha and New Delhi. The train is named after Lord Jagannath, who is also revered as the Purushottama, a deity known to show people how to live a life of virtue.

History

The Purushottam Express 12801 is a popular and old train, and was launched on April 1, 1980. Since then, the train has been providing a link to the people on the eastern coast to the capital city of India.

The train departs from Puri station (PURI) at 21:45 PM and arrives at New Delhi Railway Stations (NDLS) at 04:50 AM on the third day. During the journey of 31 hours and 05 minutes, the train covers a distance of 1,862 kms.
