'A famous historian once observed that Victoria Terminus was to the British Raj what the Taj Mahal was to the Mughal Empire. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, as it is now known, is the city’s highlight of Gothic Victorian architecture. The imposing and overflowing monument-cum-train station is an iconic symbol of colonial-era India. Its architectural finesse is incredible—a blend of Hindu, Islamic and Victorian styles with, domes, stained-glass, spires, turrets and buttresses. The imposing structure was designed by Frederick Stevens and completed in 1887. Victoria Terminus officially became Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) in 1998, and is a Unesco World Heritage Site.'
