12627 - Karnataka Express

The Karnataka Express 12627 is a superfast train that operates on the South Western Zone of the Indian Railways. This train operates on a daily basis and runs between Bengaluru City (SBC) and New Delhi (NDLS).

It is a popular train as it connects the South to the North. The Karnataka Express also has a reputation of being one of the most punctual trains.

History of Karnataka Express

The Karnataka Express made its inaugural run on July 20, 1976. Initially, it ran on a bi-weekly basis and then changed to tri-weekly. This train was initially merged with Kerala Express for a portion of the week and with Andhra Pradesh Express for two days. However, in 1987, the Karnataka Express was separated from the Kerala Express and operated via Secunderabad. Finally, the train now runs the route of Daund, Wadi and Bhopal.

The Karnataka Express covers a distance of 2,406 km in 39 hours and 10 minutes. The train departs from Bengaluru Junction at 19:20 PM and reaches New Delhi Railway Stations at 10:30 AM on the third day.

During its journey, the Karnataka Express traverses many states, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
