'On the shores of the Bay of Bengal, the Puri Beach is unsurprisingly one of the city’s biggest tourist attractions. The beach is also important as a religious or sacred site to devout Hindu pilgrims, so don’t expect the usual beach experience. The Puri Beach hosts the annual Puri Beach Festival, co-sponsored by the Indian Ministry of Tourism, the city of Odisha, the Development Commissioner of Handicrafts, and the Eastern Zonal Cultural Center, Kolkata. The festival sees a number of activities, including sand art displays by world-renowned artists. There is a promenade along the beach where you can take a walk, play a game, relax, or enjoy eating roasted corn, popularly referred to as ‘bhutta’.'
