'A lone sandstone temple set among, open, breezy paddy fields, the Rajarani Temple is a treat for sore eyes. With a plain porch, but beautifully engraved main sanctum and spire, the temple stands testament to ancient art and architecture. The walls are adorned with pictures and sculptures of women with their lovers, their children or carrying on daily activities, adding to the graceful charm of the site. Many believe, and ancient scriptures suggest that the name of the temple was previously Indresvara Shiva Temple and was later changed because of the material it was built with—sandstone, which is popularly referred to as Rajarani in those areas.'
