'One of the major places of worship in Gaya is the temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This ancient temple is of an unknown origin and was rebuilt and repaired in the 18th century by Ahilya Bai Holkar. The temple has been constructed using the South Indian Shikhara style of architecture and stands out among the other structures in the vicinity. According to popular beliefs, Lord Vishnu has left his foot imprints in the temple. Devotees visit in large numbers to offer their prayers to the deity. The temple complex houses a few other shrines dedicated to the incarnations of Lord Vishnu and other deities.'
