'One of the city’s iconic monuments, the Darbhanga Fort is worth visiting for its historical significance. Also known as Raj Quila, it was once the stately abode of the Darbhanga Raj family. The majestic fortress was built during the early 20th century by the Maharaja Kameshwar Singh after the earthquake of 1934. Although most of the structure now lies in a state of disrepair, its regal appeal is intact. One of its major attractions is its magnificent entrance which draws inspiration from the Buland Darwaza in Fatehpur Sikri. The Nargona and Ram Bagh palaces and Kankali Temple are also located within the fort complex.'
