I made two reservations at YOTEL Boston. The second was an emergency booking at very short notice. But all was well on both occasions as to service, room, food and general ambiance.

The location of this Yotel is great - just a quick walk to/from South Station and other T stations, and lots to do around the Seaport area on a nice day. Upon check in I was sent to a room that hadn't been cleaned yet - the bed wasn't made, and sheets and towels were balled up on the floor, presumably from the previous guest. I returned to the front desk and the very friendly agents were able to switch me to a new, clean room, no problem. The rooms are very small, which is not a problem for a solo traveler but I can imagine it getting very crowded very quickly with a couple sharing the space. The "bathroom" is also in the room itself, which is a bit odd. There's even a sticker on the window reminding you to close the shades before you take a shower! There were some strange layout choices also, for example the towel rack is in the toilet stall and there isn't a spot to hang a towel closer to the shower...just a bit strange. There is an iron and ironing board, but barely any space to really use it. There is no fridge or coffee maker in the room; you basically get the bed, toilet, shower, sink, TV, a few hangers, and a drawer or two by the bed. The rooms are air conditioned but the AC unit is incredibly loud. I stayed only one night so I can't speak to this possibly happening every day, but on the morning of April 24th I was woken up around 8:30am by power drills, as the 10th floor had somehow become an active construction zone. It sounded like furniture was being reinstalled in the room next to and above mine, and it went on for about 45 minutes -- and in the breaks between drilling I could hear conversations and TV noise from the room on the other side of mine; the walls really are that thin. I was packing up to head out early anyway, but I can't imagine I was the only one bothered by the sounds of power tools before 9am.

OK.....disregard all the other reviews....here is the REAL SCOOP! This is a very nice hotel!!..ok, it is not the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons or even a Hyatt... It is a no frills hotel but very comfortable....It is in the wharf area of Boston...about a 6 minutes cab ride from South station train station....it is not downtown but very close to the convention center(why I chose this hotel).....check in desk is small(a preview of the hotel rooms!) but fine and staff very helpful...My room is on the 10th floor...NO street noise....Yes, the room is small...the bed folds up a bit to give more room!...but that is OK...there is no closet, but there is a chest of drawers and a place for your suitcase and some extra shelf space....the room is designed very efficiently so the small space is used wisely....lighting is fine if you leave on the bathroom lite...yes, bathroom is different...separate sink and separate toilet area and separate shower(which is fine)... They do give bath, sink towel and small washcloth....there are plenty of outlets and nicely located USB port..TV is very nice...large but not huge and easy to use and SAMSUNG....nice picture.... This is really a European like hotel....small, but wisely arranged rooms....If you bring your bedroom belongings with you, then this might not be your hotel....BUT, if you want to be near the harbor with a lot of shops, restaurants and close to the convention center, this place is a good option....the restaurant is a bit pricey for breakfast but nice....a bagel shop is under a 5 minute walk to the right!! Enjoy!

The rooms are small but are very clean and well laid out. It was fine for a couple but any more than 2 would be cramped even with the ceiling bed. The rooftop bar was great and the staff at check in were very friendly. We did valet parking and it was quite convenient. The location is fantastic! Right beside a subway station, close to bars, restaurants and walking distance to downtown. Would stay here again!
