Amazing experience, stayed for only one night but wish I could've stayed more. Receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. The room was spectacular , very neat environment. Also the area was very easy to get to from the station as its very close to the city centre so makes it easy to get around.

Do not book this hotel if you want a night's sleep. What a mistake I made, assumed as the hotel was central, hotel would be suitable, as I had business meeting. Never again, it felt as if I was sleeping in the night club...hotel informed me there was nothing they could do. Just horrible and overall a very bad experience. So much for noise control. It's a disgrace in 2024 you still have just bad practice of lack of respect for people wishing to have a night's sleep...isn't that why one books a hotel room!

Our stay at Velvet was a little underwhelming, yes the hotel is nice enough, it's a boutique hotel, it should be. We encountered a few issues and didn't feel terribly welcome. I have addressed them with an email and got a swift polite standard reply about addressing the issues with staff / maintenance and the offer of an upgrade next stay. £154 for one night in a very noisy room, £100 card deposit incase you use the mini bar, of which will take 5 to 10 days to return (minus the hotel tax which they will deduct from that) non of which was explained. Stained (so many questionable stains) soft furnishings, luke warm water and staff that were not remotely interested in us, is not a place we will be returning. We have so many options in the city and I don't think they would care for us to return. It might be nice for the right kind of clientele. We did visit a few years back and it was gorgeous, the staff members (we met 2) were lovely. We went back because it had been so nice the first time. We loved the village vibe and cafe style culture of canal street. The guy who made us coffee was lovely in the bar area though, so that was a plus!

Lovely, modern 4 star hotel. Very “boujee” is the term that’s popular and appropriate for this hotel. Very friendly staff, Rabab & Maggie were very helpful! The Cosy King Room, which I had for the night, was awesome. Mini bar was stocked well too! :) Will definitely return for another visit!

I was looking forward to going. 165 for cosy room, breakfast and romantic additions. Receptionist seems nice when I arrived and was friendly. The room was exceptionally cosy. 3 roses on the bed looked well past their sell by date. Really low quality, 4 milk tray chocolates on a plate and petals on the bed. I wasn't impressed with this. Regardless, the furnishings were really nice and really clean. Although, they had stuffed a really nice sofa next to a bed we could hardly walk around. The location was great. Overall, I can get a nicer hotel for around the same price with more space for swinging a cat. Breakfast was OK. It would have been nice to have had some options on the continental.
