The food is really very tasty and the service is also so good thank you for the best experience the bed was super soft and comfortable only the towel management was so bad because above half and we were waiting and Bibek sir was so helpful In service food

Worst Experience - Don't be fooled by 4*

This is in no way eligible for a 4 * hotel. We as a family of 6 with 2 senior citizens and 2 kids checked in last week. Firstly the travel agent who booked our hotel cheated us as we explicitly asked for a 4 and above star premium hotel but when we entered the reception said you will get a normal room with no view. We thought its mistake of our agent so we took it but this room ended up next to reception. 1. The whole time the noise was so much that we were waiting on when we will check out from the place. 2. The food and the staff there are very rude - We are from south India and we needed curd and there was no provision. First day they said they will give and gave a tiny bowl which was not even good enough for 1 person. The staff who serves at the restaurant shows a lot of difference, with some customers they behave as if they will move mountains for them but with us they were very rude and there is no basic courtesy they showed. 3. My son who is just 7 was eating with his hand and the one of the staff lady comes and says "spoon se khaaya karo bacha" - Who the hell is she to dictate my child on whether to eat with spoon or hand. 4. One day by mistake one glass in the room fell down and broke, we went to reception to tell them that it broke. Just one glass which is used to drink water, their first response is not about arranging someone to clean it but they wanted to tell us we will be charging for it. I have not seen such cheapo people and they call themselves 4 * and the cost for that 1 glass was Rs. 250 that they charged. 5. Room size is so small and we were 2 adults and 2 kids and after luggage there was no place to even move and the bathrooms are worst, you take bath and the whole water will fall in to dustbin and wet the paper towel because thats all the place is This hotel is very very far away from Gangtok which makes it even worse. Please don't be cheated.

After survey of many reviews of 3 star and above hotels in Gangtok, I finally selected Udaan Woodbury Hotel of Udaan group and booked 2 standard deluxe rooms (from hotel direct website) with breakfast only (without view) for 3 nights for we one family which was in my budget. They welcome us with a scarf and welcome drinks as per their tradition. Our stay was wonderful. The rooms were neat and clean. Room service was good. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the restaurant (only veg) on the 4th floor. All varieties of Breakfast, Lunch and dinner are served daily. All the staff are polite and courteous. The hotel is far (5 km) from M G road however we visited M G road twices. We easily took a taxi (Rs 30 each) from nearby Swastik road in the evening and returned at night by similar taxi which cost @ Rs 200 or Rs 250 ( for all 4 people) as per bargain. There is a separate electric greaser in each bathroom which takes @ 15 minutes to heat cold water in the morning. We have to bear this in every hotel of hill station. If any one feels high cold, they provide room heaters on chargeable basis Rs 300 per night.. Finally I would definitely recommend this 4 star hotel in Gangtok to all vegetarian people on a good budget.
