We made on line reservations and were given one price.. but as we stayed 9 days each day had a different price.. so be sure you know this!.. ( our son stayed another hotel and rate was the same for every night for 9 days)…Yet the hotel has a wonderful restaurant though! Great staff. .. the concierge was efficient in arranging a day tour of Sintra..a real treat for us.. Room is small but serviceable ..bathroom like wise small and there are no grab bars in shower.. so , like those of us of a certain age..be very careful! Bathroom floor is marble so again be careful! The lobby lounge is a great place to relax.. lobby menu is imaginative and reasonably priced We had a great time in Lisbon and loved the location of the hotel..,We were there for their Independence Day celebrations and all hotel guests were given a red carnation.. the symbol of the revolution that overthrew the dictatorship that govern Portugal years earlier. A fitting flower for a grand trip.. BUT again clarify room rate before you stay at this hotel

We have stayed in some of the finest hotels in the world and were hoping this would be another. We have never been made to feel less welcome! The check in experience was awful. We did arrive very early - as most from the US do. There were absolutely NO considerations for even a place to change after our red eye flight, much less a day room or any temporary accommodations at all. We stayed 4 hours in the lounge. When I checked on their progress, oh! The room had been ready but they had not contacted us by any of the means we had left with them. The Jr Suite had no dressing area where my wife could sit, plug in a hair dryer, and have a mirror. The desk area had no mirror and the bathroom had NO OUTLETS! Then, we had an issue where on our last night , after attending an event, we were being taken by a local Uber driver who would not accept credit cards (after saying he would) and we had exhausted our euros. The hotel staff adamantly stuck to their policy of not exchanging currency. We had to wait outside the hotel until we happened upon some generous young girls who would exchange my dollars. We were made to feel like beggars standing in front one of the most Expensive hotels in Lisbon. Again, staying in their Jr suite, spending quite a hefty bit of money at their hotel, but they were of no assistance to their guest. Never again! Stay away! But the massages we had were very nice so one star above none!

From the moment we entered the Hotel everything was perfect. Carolina on the front desk gave us the warmest of welcomes and set the standard for the rest of our 4 night break . All of the staff were friendly and so helpful. We had the buffet breakfast each morning which offered a huge range of choice that would satisfy event the most fussy of eater once again the staff were so friendly and seemed genuinely interested in their guests . We visited SEEN which was still a work in progress some of the work still to be completed . The time we spent up there was enjoyable and it seemed very much the place to be "Seen", excuse the pun. The location of the Hotel was great for us as we like to walk where possible when in a City . There is an outside pool although we did have a drink at the bar we didn't use the pool although I'm sure if we had more time would have spent an hour or two as it was very relaxing and away from the busy streets below. The art installations throughout the Lobby were very interesting too and very thought provoking. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

This is NOT a 4 or 5 star hotel. We came following a Uniworld Douro river cruise and our first impression was WOW, but we soon discovered the place is the triumph of style over substance. We upgraded to a suite but did not notice the shower was around half the size of a phone booth, the carpet was stained, and the front desk was seriously understaffed during the early evening and would not answer the phone. The first floor restaurant was A++ but SEEN, the top floor restaurant was too loud to have a conversation and they refused to turn down the volume of the music. You can do way better than this when you are in LIsbon

The hotel is situated on a beautiful, wide and tree lined avenue and our room was well appointed and clean. However, it was the staff who really made our stay so enjoyable from a very pleasant check-in to the very friendly and professional help provided to us by Pedro F. He made us feel very welcome and was very patient in answering all of our questions on what to see and how get about in Lisbon. When asked specifically about where to get a good coffee and pastéis de nata nearby, he gave us his recommendation and provided directions from the hotel. We weren’t disappointed, and came back to the hotel with further questions which he also answered. I won’t say where the cafe was, just ask him whenever you visit.
