Amazing stay at The Ritz Carlton KL. Despite some reviews talking about tired decor etc, our entire experience was fantastic. In truth, based on some of the reviews, I had set my expectations a little lower, but am delighted to say they were ultimately exceeded! Staff from doormen, concierge (Mueller), reception, housekeeping, butler service, pool/spa team and the breakfast and the afternoon tea waiting staff just cannot do enough for you, and it's always done with a smile. Upon check-in at 10am after a long 14 hour flight, we had fantastic service from Rachel who checked us in and let us go straight to the room. We were delighted with a complimentary upgrade to a huge 2 bedroom suite! We had a slight problem with the room I reported later, which Rachel dealt with promptly and efficiently. A special mention also needs to be made for our thoughtful and wonderful butler Saj Nay Tun, assisted by Sutan, who came to surprise my son at midnight for his 21st Birthday with a cake, balloons and delightful decorations. He even took photos of the celebration and printed a copy of the family photo which was mounted and presented with our afternoon tea the next day (also a lovely treat with attentive service). The service Nay Tun and Sutan gave was truly over and above, and something really memorable which we and especially my son appreciated. Really convenient location for this hotel next to the designer Pavilion shopping mall. Most tourist attractions are a short Grab ride away, which we found more convenient than the metro as was a very cost effective way of getting around. Thank you Ritz Carlton, we loved our 3 night stay.

Arrived after a long journey (over 14hour flight time) and was welcomed into Ritz Carlton like I was a family member returning home. We were quickly checked in and were told that our two bedroom suite (which I had booked) was upgraded to a higher floor- at this point I thought the upgrade was just the floor number, boy was I wrong!! Opened the door to our room/suite and was knocked back by the size! 2 bedroom suite yes, kitchen, lounge, dining area, study and FOUR bathrooms!!! Yes yes yes and YES! Staff were amazing, greeted with smiles constantly, and willingness to impress every hotel guest. Breakfast was good (notice the word good - have had better in resorts) but I put it down to a no nonsense city hotel breakfast. You got good quality ingredients but a small selection. Location was great, not to far from the pavilion mall (2mins walk) easy to get a grab- which I should add the staff at the door always helping us into and out of the grab (taxi service) . Swimming pool good size, my kids enjoyed it a couple of times, as for most of our stay we were out and about exploring the amazing city of Kuala Lumpur . Hotel great for kids (ours are 9,8). Didn’t use the kids club much as it was basic and to be honest after seeing it once my two decided against visiting again. Once again this is a city hotel so we didn’t plan on spending a large amount of time in the hotel. So you may wonder why the 4 stars instead of 5?! This hotel is just dated. Amazingly clean but needs updating. I would return to the hotel if I had to, but would opt for a more modern hotel in the same area if given the opportunity.

We had the most amazing stay at the Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur once again. Our second home. All the staff made us feel so comfortable and at home. Our every need was seen to by the Duty manager Clarence, even on his off days. Our suite was beyond comfortable and Zul our butler made sure everything was in order all the time and fulfilled all our requests. Breakfast was extraordinary with fresh parathas been made every single day. Chef Daniel even prepared a dish especially for my daughter and I when it was not even on the breakfast menu that day. Thiban Raj, Nilufa, Nazmi, Siva and Tazikul ensured that we have the best breakfast experience every single day. The bellman Panir, whom we know for years always greeted us with the biggest smile. Can not wait to go back.

Missing the Ritz quality and timeliness

This is our "go to" hotel when we are in KL. Following on from our previous trip in February, we spent a few days during May at Ritz Carlton. Check-in was smooth and hassle free. The room was well kept and comfortable. We tend to spend our evening at the Lobby Bar listening to the 3-piece live jazz band whilst enjoying our drinks. However, unlike the previous instance in February, the quality of the food at the bar this time around was a let down, not forgetting it took ages for it to arrive. We had 6 other guests with us and we were disappointed Ritz let us down. I can only conclude the quality of the food and timeliness is just erratic and not to the standard Ritz should hold up to for the brand and price it charges. The service from the Azraful and team from the bar itself was good and that somewhat cushioned the disappointment. If not for the live jazz band, I would opt for the Alchemy bar at Starhill Gallery. I hope Ritz does something to improve this particular aspect of the food quality and timeliness and their Lobby Bar.

Fabulous stay at the Ritz Carlton! Our second time visiting this property. It’s got an old fashioned charm to it with the nightly jazz, a harpist in the afternoon and afternoon tea etc. Spacious room with great design and the turndown service was much appreciated - the poem is a lovely thought along with the mini treats. Breakfast was great, although not as much variety as last time (pre covid) but everything especially the Indian food was lovely. The staff were all just wonderful, the breakfast staff, the bell hops, the front desk - just lovely people. Used the spa/health club a lot and a big thanks to the friendly ladies and gents there. A late check out and use of the pool/sauna facilities afterwards was much appreciated for a late flight. Location can’t be beaten in KL, but still extremely calm and quiet in the hotel.
