do not stay here if you want to get any sleep at all

DO NOT stay here if you want to get any sleep at all. First off, upon entering the room it was boiling hot, as the aircon only turns on if you're in the room and moving around, it also smelled like hot sewage. All the towels and pillow cases in my room were tattered, stained and/or had holes in them. There were hand prints and smudges all over the mirrors and windows as well. So overall it didn't feel very clean or taken care of, that i could kind of handle as it was in an ok location and had a bus stop out the front. What i could not deal with was the constant music until 3am blaring into the room! There is 0 sound proofing at all! It felt like i was sleeping in a night club! I had just arrived from a late night flight so i had no choice to stay, but i actually got 0 sleep. I played white noise out of my phone at full volume and I could still hear the bass from the night clubs on top of that!! It didn't stop until after 3am! You can also hear constant noise from other guests as well, but that was nothing compared to the music. I had to check out the next morning and find another hotel as i was supposed to stay 10 nights there but there was no way i could handle 0 sleep for 10 days. It was actually insane. The music coupled with the tatty bedding and towels just makes this place a horrible place to stay. 0 out of 10, would never stay again.

We stayed at the Quay for 3 nights and were very happy with our choice of accommodation. After reading some of the recent reviews we were a little apprehensive at what we were going to find but on arrival (and at all other times) the desk staff couldn’t have been more helpful and quickly showed us our room 301 at the front of the hotel. The room was clean, large enough, well laid out and the bathroom looked recently refurbished and clean. The location is brilliant, 5-10 mins walk to Chinatown, Clarke Quay and close to bustling Boat Quay (turn right at the front of the hotel and head for the bridge)., 15 mins walk to Raffles Hotel, 10 mins walk to Fort Canning. The train system can be accessed at Chinatown or Clarke Quay, very easy to get to Gardens by the Bay, Cablecars, Little India, Kampong Glam, etc. As our room was at the front of the hotel we were expecting it to be very noisy (as mentioned in previous reviews) but there was no night club / bar music and the road noise was no worse than a bad air con unit, perhaps we were lucky but all 3 nights were the same. We felt secure with access only by room card in the evening and lift only able to be used after room card scan, also a good sized safe in the room. Overall we were very happy with our stay at the Quay, we felt it was excellent value and would stay there again if we visit Singapore. Tips - the Gardens by the Bay are free to access but go into some of the attractions they’re superb. The cablecars are a must / the boat trip from Clarke Quay to Marina Bay Sands is well worth it / Chinatown late markets are brilliant.

Do not stay - awful experience

I urge you not stay here. Very loud noise from the road. The bed sheets have multiple stains on them. The bed was so uncomfortable. The room and the walls were somehow dirty. I said to reception about the multiple issues expecting they could at least change the sheets. His response was “you know this is a party area”.

Stayed 3 nights in the Quay Hotel and the only thing I can recommend about the place is the location! The place is scruffy, smelly and noisy! The room was basic , carpet was stained and on inspection, we discovered the mattress was dirty and covered in hairs! We had a room at the front of the hotel and it was like trying to sleep in a bus terminal ,as they ran incessantly through the day and into the early hours! Do not stay here ! There are far better places!

The hotel is situated on a main road and as a result was very noisy at night. There is a bus stop outside which ran very late. Then there were the bin lorries which made even more noise. The room was reasonably capacious but there had been a water leak at sometime which resulted in stains on the walls. The bed seemed fairly clean but as soon as you looked at the mattress you wondered if anyone had cleaned the room. I have stayed in worse hotels but this was grim by any standard and nowhere near the level I would expect considering what we had paid. Basically if you had crossed the river Styx this is what you might have expected.
