This hotel is excellent! Located in a historic neighborhood where we felt safe. We had a large bedroom with sitting room area and a large, renovated bathroom. Included a fresh breakfast, cooked and served by the staff. They even have a bar on the first floor. We loved everything about this mansion, especially everyone on the staff who went out of their way for us and all the other guests. Historic, but updated and awesome!

Wonderful common areas, living room, dining area, bar and billiards room. Got a real sense of time and place in historic Buffalo the property. The butlers were not only helpful and friendly, but knowledgeable about the city. As many have commented, the mansion could use some renovation. I suggest they start with the beds. We stayed in what I’d say were the maid’s quarters as it was small with a very old and uncomfortable queen bed that creaked when you turned over. Jetted tubs may once have been the height of a luxury room, but today, I doubt anyone trusts that they are clean enough. But hey, it’s an old mansion and I imagine the cost of renovating all the tubs would be astronomical. Terrific location, walkable at night to Mother’s - a fab restaurant- and Babeville. It’s a great choice if you are tired of sterile, chain hotels. If I were to visit Buffalo again, I’d stay at the MODA again.

What a wonderful hotel! Our family of 5 adults stayed in 2 rooms. The property is a beautiful historic building, inside & out. Staff were friendly & accommodating, especially Lucas. The rooms were clean & spacious. We were treated to a complimentary drink in the evening, fresh baked cookies in our room & cooked-to-order breakfast in the morning in the beautiful front room. Would definitely stay here again and will be recommending to friends and family.

They are kind and welcoming!!! I travel about every week and stay in all kinds of hotels, and this is the first hotel in years where I feel like the people who work here really care. Lucas, who is the bartender and B&B greeter, was so nice and helpful. He realized I was having a very tough day and was very kind. They serve warm cookies and a free drink upon arrival. The rooms are nice and I’m so glad I chose to stay here instead of anywhere else, especially after this long hard day. Thank you! Lucas was wonderful.

Lovely building but in need of a major refresh. Not well maintained or cleaned. Staff delightful. Breakfast very basic. But new carpets and a paint job, even a good carpet cleaning is way past due. Time to renovate!
