DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU NEED ANY EXTRA HELP OR ACCESSIBILITY! I chose this hotel because it said they had a restaurant. I was leaving the hospital after surgery and I needed a place that had room service. When I arrived the taxi driver told the person at the desk I had just come from the hospital. She said I was at the wrong "tower" and made me walk a block to the other tower (knowing I had just had surgery). When I got to the other tower I asked about room service and they said the restaurant was in the tower I had just left. But, there was a place that would deliver, after 5, and not on Sunday. I asked how I was supposed to eat and got a blank stare. I asked to speak to the manager and was told to call, the phone in my room was broken. This went on and on. I finally looked at the girl behind the desk and asked why she could not just be nice and helpful. I just had surgery. I had to leave. I called Orbitz to let them know, gave my key to the front desk, and said I was leaving. I agreed to pay for one night. A week later I got a message saying I had checked out. So I don't know if Orbitz did not call the hotel like they said they would or the hotel, but nobody ever recorded my leaving. I'm probably out some money. But, I hope I can save someone the aggravation I went through. The staff there is just cruel.

The hotel room was very clean, spacious and comfortable but very dated. Kitchen had sign preventing cooking. Only two bottles of complimentary water a day. No minibar but had a refrigerator. Room Safe not working required servicing. Room service is outsourced and only available 17:00 to 00:00 Monday to Saturday. Laundry form says service available same day if you give laundry before 10am. This is not correct, when I took my laundry to reception I was told it would take at least one day maybe two days because they outsource. Why does management use forms that are not correct? It is unacceptable. It is easy to change the forms to let customers know the truth about the level of service. Disappointing !

In my opinion, The Davis hotel Wins the award for the WORST HOTEL in Bangkok! From the uncaring staff with no greeting or smiles, the unclean rooms n bathroom, the stained bedroom carpet that was never vacuumed during the 4 nights of our stay. No power points for Wi Fi. 5 hangers n I bathrobe between two people ! The low pitched very irritating electrical noise coming from the top floor day n night. Gone are the days of this Hotels splendour. It’s not up to 2 star standard let alone 4 star Be warned stay away ! Stay at the Valia a new 5 star hotel opposite With very friendly staff, a lovely restaurant serving delicious meals and beautiful clean rooms.

The grand old Davis Hotel was a gem of an hotel 25 years ago, it was an oasis of style, class, swanky guests all being warmly hosted by attentive staff & receiving impeccable service. Those days are long gone as the once illustrious hotel now stumbles its way to deliver a 3 star establishment service. Rather unclean, poorly maintained, dull, dark & no charm remains. The bones of the wonderful building remain evident with lovely marble bathrooms, solid walls, high end structure, design & layout but all sadly neglected, tardy unkempt & very run down. The original 1990’s Life Fitness mini-multi-gym still survives & affords guests an adequate resistance program. A few pieces of cardio likewise across the way. The pool area remains as was & though equally neglected & run down is a solid piece of architecture. The once regular Davis Hotel Tuk-Tuk service no longer runs guests to & from Sukhumvit Road & the service that once flowed is no longer in evidence. Sad that this once lavish establishment has fallen from grace.

The hotel is of the slightly old world decor but the room was comfortable. The aircon was quiet and good. The room was reasonably sound proofed- the service was good. the cons- the breakfast buffet was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. the lighting in the room was poor. I dont know why hotels often just have dim lights- also i couldnt find a reading light near bed- it was all or nothing.
