I am giving 4 ⭐ because of the food price otherwise it's all 5 ⭐. Food is good but Rs 12000/- ( for lunch and dinner) for 4 adults ( though I enjoyed ) I feel on higher side. But my old parents and husband enjoyed the food and ambience so I have to overlook the price. Children won't enjoy the food sices it's traditional chettinadu food. But good standard. No noodles, pasta, tomato sauce, french fries, unlimited tandoori chicken... No no no. The have a standard menu served in course, till moore, ice cream, coffee, tea etc It's for adults and aged. For children it's swimming pool. Wonderful staff.clean place. Certainly I will choose this place if I have to go to karaikudi.

Absolutely beautiful place and atmosphere. The uniqueness of the property was visible throughout. The staff were exceptional before our arrival and during our brief visit. The food was delicious and in abundance - it was great to have the right quantity made for the all the guests to avoid wastage of buffet service. Thank you for a most memorable experience.

This is a beautiful hotel in Tanjore. The rooms are large and we had a generous seating area outside our room door, which was great to relax in during the late afternoon. The grounds a very attractive and there is a very good pool. The staff are friendly and even though the hotel apparently does not have an alcohol license a member of staff was able to procure a beer from me in the afternoon. Our travel agent had raved about the food here but I thought is was overhyped. On the day we ate there the set menu combined a rather bizarre mix of western and indian dishes. The Indian dishes eg. mutton stuffed paratha, was very good, but why serve it with a brussel sprout in a creamy sauce? Speaking personally I would have preferred a set menu of traditional Indian dishes.

This is a family run hotel which was a family residence for many years before being converted to a hotel. We had a total of three rooms, and they were all together with a beautiful, shared verandah. It was lovely to sit out on the verandah and listen to the birds and read and have tea. A very pleasant experience. The rooms where well appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. They even provided a tube of Odomos cream to repel the inevitable mosquitos though we didn't see a lot of them. The most impressive part of our experience there was the Chettinad cuisine and the marvelous and attentive dining staff. The team in the dining room was thoughtful, attentive and well coordinated as they brought out the various dishes. One member of our party has an unusual and serious food allergy and the head man in the dining room was outstanding in his attention to this detail. The food was delicious and worth a stop even if you aren't staying the night.

Check in (21 11 2023) was fairly hassle free and we were allowed an early Check in. The erstwhile guesthouse of a traditional Chettiar family, the MSMM group, has been thoroughly refurbished maintaining the traditional ambience and feel. The exotic hotel has an excellent outdoor pool and unique rooms with the traditional feel, well maintained, very clean and with all the necessary modern facilities. Check out (23 11 2023) was extremely quick and smooth, with friendly, helpful staff. The manager Mr Yakub George was also very friendly and professional, ensuring an efficient work flow Exquisite, homely Chettinad cuisine served traditionally on banana leaves(lunch) and plates(breakfast and dinner). Delectable non vegetarian as well as vegetarian cuisine. Outstanding service in the dining area where Muthu and Sukumar deserve special mention for their excellence. Thank you, all staff @The Bangala
