The behavior of the host Madhu is not good. Asked us to carry our luggage at the time of check in as well as check out. Offered the worst breakfast, appam with one bowl of veg soups for two.No mineral water was provided, there was only a common water pot with local packaged drum of 20 ltr. Charged rupees 600/- extra for 1 hr and 40 minutes late checkout. The host Madhu offered us to take dinner and lunch at Alleppey United Club in an unsuitable atmosphere in a bar and charged an excess amount for kerala meal in comparison to local restaurants. Be careful of this homestay. This homestay is not a heritage property just a simple drunk man's house. All the 5 rooms are the same, no classic no premium rooms are there and an awful sleeping experience with lots and lots of mosquitos.

After a 6hrs Bus Ride and ~3 km walk from the Bus station we stumbled into the Resort after only booking it the previous night from Munnar. Very easy going check in, they were more keen to get us unpacked and take a load off first. . By the next morning we had already decided to stay another 2 days, the team was very helpful booking a bike and organising laundry. Breakfast was super simple but enough to start off the day nicely. Bathroom also basic, dont expect all the bells and whistles, if you are a fan of that old school charm / Colonial style then this place is great. a short 10 walk to the beach and 2/3 Restaurant, 5-10min tuk tuk ride to the train stations and about 5min tuk tuk ride to the boat houses or river cruises. all in all a really chilled out enjoyable stay. . . just what we needed after trekking in Munnar.

What a resort... not so fancy or big or luxurious but a peaceful, serene and heritage resort... the manager was helpful, kind and very friendly. Also the complementary breakfast was so awesome with fresh pineapple juice, fresh bananas, tea/coffee, bread, butter toast, eggs of your choice and so much and dinner we had was home made, fresh, very tasty and very reasonable... the rooms feel like we are living in an old kings palace with everything so fancy antique... the location was near to allepey beach , 10 min walking distance and so peaceful. Near to main road also but quiet peaceful... rent was also reasonable as we prebooked weeks ago... there weren’t many rooms in the resort so felt like all the resort was to ourselves... overall it is the best place to put up in allepey...

One of the best place to stay in peace. The building is 100 old and which has a classical touch with high teak wood roof, teakwood furniture and each room give you a feel of staying in those grandfather places in the villages. The place has got so much free space that you will feel very serene and peaceful

It is an old traditional house which is being used as a resort. Not much restoration has been done and there are cracks in the doors, and red oxide peeled off in patches on the floor. Even so, it is comfortingly clean, with good bath and bed linen. I had the opportunity to eat only one breakfast and that was delicious and went well with the coconut chutney. The resort is on a very calm and peaceful lane on the banks of one of Alappuzha's numerous canals and offers very comforting peace and privacy. For the budget traveller who wants to be free of the universal star hotel bustle and standardised menu, this offers an affordable, clean, reassuring, and homely option.
