People just walk into your room while you are sleeping.

Staff will let themselves into your room while you are sleeping, without knocking, and despite the deadbolt being set and a do not disturb sign on the door. I was awoken at 8:30 this morning by a woman standing in my room going "housekeeping" and then backing out as she sees I am asleep and naked on the bed. In my annoyance I didn't manage to get back to sleep so I ended up getting 4 1/2 hours. Would not recommend this hotel for its lack of privacy and insensitive staff.

I am local but made a last minute decision to stay in Seattle overnight during a conference and University Inn was easy to book and a great price. I think my room was a low rate because it was right across from the elevator but I honestly didn't hear much noise all night. The room was cute, clean and perfect for one person. The $22 resort fee was a bit weird, considering it's mostly to pay for things I didn't want (a reusable water bottle and "credit" towards a snack or one drink in the cooler (there was a good selection of wine, beer, cider, pop and Red Bull) so I didn't love that up-charge but this seems to be happening at a lot of hotels lately. I parked onsite which was another $20 but it's really the only option considering this not a great area for street parking. I have a big SUV and it was a bit tight but worked out just fine and the lot is well lit. I don't understand The Naked Experience that Staypineapple hotels advertise...it basically meant that there were no sheets on the bed (just a fitted sheet), just two twin size duvets so I guess with 2 people each person could have their own (and sleep naked with nothing between them)? I know this is a common way to sleep but it has never been my thing as I sleep hot so I need more than one option when it's time to kick off some covers. With just the warm duvet I was too cold to not use it but too hot with just the duvet. Not the end of the world, just means I maybe should have turned the AC up even more I guess. Other than that wifi was decent, the shower was great, staff were very kind, the outdoor pool looked cute and this was a great spot during a conference that spanned a couple locations in the U District. My only wish was I had enough time to eat breakfast next door at Portage Bay...would have been the first time ever I could walk into a Portage Bay without waiting in line or circling the block to park...so if you stay here, be sure to factor that into your time!

Very clean hotel and great attention to detail in the room features. We enjoyed the cookies that were available every afternoon. Staff was very friendly and the local neighborhood amenities were great! Choice of bed coverings with wrapped duvets may be cumbersome by some, but we adapted with ease!

Everything was great! Comfortable bed, clean room, accommodating and friendly staff. But I am unfortunately am taking off two points due to the “daily amenity fee”, which is $20/ day for some b.s. amenities. I understand that the cost of these amenities needs to be covered, but just increase the price of the room. I absolutely hate it when it is tacked on as a somewhat hidden fee. No one likes this.I also avoid airlines that do this. I hate it so much that next time, I will probably stay somewhere else that doesn’t include an extra amenity fee, and just charges a little more.
