The hotel is clean and the location was good for our purposes but the internet connection is impossible…..a lleast on the fourth floor. Every night we call the front desk and they offer to “do something” but it only works intermittently at best even after changing rooms . I cannot recommend the hotel. For this reason.

The hotel location is excellent, few steps to bus station, metro and ferry. Near to resturants and local cheap markets. About 40 minutes from Sabiha Airport. Few steps from havabus (sabiha Airport bus) station. The team at the hotel were all friendly namely muhsin, Hakan, kemal and Glouy. They were so polite and helpful. Breakfast at top of the building is perfect with excellent sea view, although almost the same all days but is delicious and tasty with various types of cheese, fruits, veggies, boric, eggs, potatoes, cakes, cookies and of course tea and coffee. The room was special. Although we had a reservation of a double room, they gave us a family room with no price increment. Bed was very comfortable. The room was wide enough with a sea view. The bathroom is clean and suffient. Everything is tidy and sparkle cleaned. Everyday the room was cleaned. Coffee and tea were available for free at any time at the lobby. Next time I come to kadikoy, definitely I will stay again at sidonya hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for comfort stay.

Have been to Istanbul many times (such a magical city) and for the first time I tried staying on the Asian as I love the sea walks so much. The Sidonya Hotel provided an excellent base to stay in Kadikoy. The hotel is well situated - off the main streets yet close enough to be within easy reach of ferrys, buses, restaurants, seaside walks. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the whole place especially the rooms (which are well appointed). The staff are very welcoming / helpful. The room price is excellent including a good buffet breakfast. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends (I already have!) NB I do agree with an earlier reviewer re the noisy dog - perhaps the hotel owners should approach the dog owner and suggest they deal with this (just let the dog indoors sometimes)

Very good choice on Asian side of Istanbul

On returning to Istanbul this year, we had intended to stay at the Istanbul Life hotel again (please see my earlier review from Oct 2018 which includes some local transport and dining tips). However as the IL was full for our dates, we stayed at the similarly priced Sidonya instead. I can say that we judged the Sidonya to be the better of the two, mainly down to more spacious rooms (the aircon and wifi both worked well), and superior breakfast choice. For the latter, breakfast is taken at a top floor dining room with stupendous views over the harbour and further across to The Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia. The Sidonya is a few streets further over on the seafront from the main ferry terminals and Metro, and is up a steeper hill about 100 yards, but as a result is in a somewhat quieter location. However following on from other reviews if you have a high floored room at the front then there is a chance you will hear the Muezzin at 6am, but it is not too loud, and to me adds to the atmosphere. We stayed for three nights on our way into Turkey and again for one night prior to our departure home.
