As a group of friends travelling this was a lovely place to stay. The hosts were very accommodating! The food was amazing and the house had a great atmosphere. We stayed in the family room and it was very spacious for the four of us.

Items mentioned that its provided was not present like hot water kettle, free bicycle, safe. Nothing present in room. WiFi signal was so weak that its almost like no WiFi. AC main switch was put off by the owner from outside the room. So overall not so friendly place although advertise as home stay, nothing homely about the place.

We stayed at Sai homestay with our 3 kids and it was such a wonderful welcome to India. We felt like we were staying with friends and loved getting to know the whole family. The room was perfect for a family with 2 bedrooms and we had privacy but could also interact with the family. Our breakfast was included and while the kids enjoyed cornflakes, we also loved Simi’s poori. We had dinner there one evening and it was one of the best meals we had in India - way better than restaurant food. They organized a good tuk tuk driver at a good rate for us for a day touring and shared lots of great recommendations. Simi makes gorgeous clothes and we bought two beautiful pieces at very reasonable prices. If you are looking to get to know the real India with warm hosts, this is the perfect place. After booking this night stay the day before, I added that we needed a twin room (separate beds) When we arrived they took us to a double room with a double bed (this seems to happen a lot in India. Upon arrival it appeared to be a friendly welcome “come in sit down for 5 mins, do you want a cup of tea after your journey, yes please. It felt nice to be welcome at someone’s home and have a nice cuppa. We were kept talking for a while and filled out lots of details on our movements. The room was finally ready around 6 hours after our arrival and was very basic. The beds looked like they may have once formed a sofa and the mattress was very uncomfortable. I ended up moving the mattress to the floor. The pillow were of no use as they were very small and thin. The bathroom felt unclean, the hot water had to be turned on ten minutes before you need a shower the switch is located outside of the room on another terrace. This switch is also kept an eye on to make sure it is not being left on. Before going to our room we met Sai. He came over very nice, and willing to help us with our plans. It became obvious to us that any way he intended to help us, that he was taking a cut of the profit, and we quickly lost trust. The restaurant a pinch of spice was heavily pushed upon us to visit and every member of the family (apart from the mother) asked numoureous times, if we were going to visit and when. WiFi was terrible and most of the stay it didn’t work at all. There are monkeys around the building which is good to see. Oh and that friendly cup of tea was charged for on the final bill along with 12% tax on the room. The room when I booked it stated it was three beds with a bath, it couldn’t be further from the truth!

We had a very comfortable stay and our host Rajiv was very cordial and friendly. Rajiv gave us good tips and helped us plan the places to visit. He was also able to arrange for local transport to visit the places. Home made food was definitely a plus. Overall a great place.
