Concierge excellent service. Cleaning service was excellent as well. Lift access was fast. Front desk service was poor. No one picked up the phone when enquiring about internet access as the code they gave was not working. Poorly written code. Room needs upgrading. Too dark worsened with the use of dark furnitures. Escalator did not operate at one stage which was an inconvenience. This was followed by a security guard who needs a lesson or two about customer service.

The shower floor was very slippery, lucky I had my rubber thongs with me and I was near the towel rail so I was able to get out safely and get them otherwise I would’ve been on the floor and an ambulance being called when you found me. There is no fan in the shower. Bluetooth in the room would’ve been good for listening to my music but no explanation on how to find it. The chicken supreme had lentils with it and if I was serving it at home it would’ve cost six dollars and who wants lentils when you’re in a good hotel. The shopping concourse downstairs was not accessible by the lift and hard to find how to get there.

We loved our stay here after a long flight, the location was perfect, right in the heart of the cbd. The room/bed was so comfy and relaxing after a taxing flight and the staff were very professional and helpful especially Serhan who gave us tips on how to enjoy our stay. Thanks Rydges for an amazing experience, will definitely stay again.

Tidy Rooms and Time-Traveling Check-Ins

The room itself was satisfactory, kept clean and tidy throughout my stay. The amenities provided were also adequate, though nothing particularly noteworthy. The location is convenient within ChinaTown with train and tram stations nearby making it easy to get around. Where the hotel fell short, however, was in the soft service skills of the staff, particularly at the reception and the amount of time it took for their systems to check me in. The check in system seems to be insanely slow for a hotel in 2024. I found the reception staff to be polite but they seemed to lack sufficient knowledge and training in how to deal with customers and the software suite used within the hotel. This was in stark contrast to my experience in May 2023 where staff were more efficient and attentive. My overall stay was just okay, I believe that improvements in the soft service skills of the staff, at reception, and an update of the hotel management software could greatly enhance the guest experience.

My sisters and I stayed here for a staycation in the city and wanted the family room - very clean rooms with very comfy beds. The staff were very attentive and lovely as we walked around. So many great shops and restaurants for Families to enjoy. Great place to stay!
