There was a wedding on the 6th floor we were on the 5th floor and the noise was unbearable and went on for hours. Not good enough! If there is a function on the 6 th floor the 5th floor should have been used for guests attending the function. Very disappointing

Rydges Adelaide was a fabulous place to stay. The biggest standout is their customer service, the staff are very friendly and treated us like family. We were greeted with smiles and a welcome response to any requests. Breakfast was lovely, a great variety of options. Eggs of your choice made to order. A lovely view and great barista coffee (there’s a coffee machine in the breakfast zone too but I like almond milk so opted for the cafe). Chef Junaid was the breakfast chef that had a contagious smile and went the extra mile to care for all guests that approached him. He even showed me a quick cooking demo. We had an early start on our first day due to a Kangaroo Island bus tour and the duty manager the night before arranged breakfast / morning tea bags for us to collect at 5:50am. This was the best. It added such convenience to our day trip. He had made us feel so welcome too. The pool and spa were amazing (recently renovated). The gym was very average. No free weights or exercise mat in the gym. The pillows and bedding was very comfortable too! The blockout curtains were fantastic. We stayed for 6 nights and it was clean, organised & the location was great. There was a bit of a walk to the CBD but we enjoyed that. The car park was secure (no cover) in a fenced area at the side of the hotel. Optional extra fee. Traffic noise could be improved but the hospitality outweighed this, we would stay here again.

Late night check in was flawless. Loved the hot towel on arrival to refresh with. I mentioned needing to go to the city the next day, and was immediately offered and booked the complimentary shuttle service. Little bit of street traffic noise, but would stay here again.

The new decore is a vast improvement. The rooms are well equipped with comfy chairs and the bathroom facilities are modern and clean.

This Rydges is looking very dated and tired. The room was so noisy from traffic and thumping through the ceiling which we assumed were the restaurant and bar staff cleaning up after service at 11.30pm. I thought I would go and have a float in the indoor pool but alas a young guy and his very loud speaker hogging the spa kind of ruined the idea of relaxing in the pool - which was also very cold for an indoor pool! So back to the room. To be fair the bed was ok and the shower was excellent but the carpet was dirty and felt sticky and the furniture and decor very worn. We elected to pay for breakfast as part of the room (which was average) and then advised we would be charged an additional $11 for 2 coffees as only instant was included! Usually find Rydges to be good value for money but Adelaide you get the thumbs down!
