I was regretting my decision as soon as I took my 1st step inside the hotel. I have stayed in many hotels in India and abroad. Ramada Alleppey is without doubt the most hideous hotel we have ever stayed. The decor is loud and of cheap quality. Whoever did the interiors must not have finished a proper school where they lack basic ideas of aesthetics. Even in the lift the video playing in loop is cheesy and not something I would relate to a brand like Ramada. The entire property seems to be falling over due to lack of proper maintenance. Only plus with this property is its location, view of the lake and decent service. Personally this was my 1st stay in a Ramada property and for sure I will think 100 times before I ever stay in a Ramada property. Dirty outdated bathroom fittings, floor, towels. Had to request additional cleaning but that didn't help a lot as the floors and fittings are stained due to years of poor maintenance. Creaking floor with very cheap quality flooring. The walls of the room were hideous, with un-matching glossy laminates lacking finesse, extremely poor quality furnitures, creaking bed, even the eyehole in the door was not matching with the next room. It was a mistake to book this hotel. Whoever did the interiors of this hotel has never been to a design school as they lack the basics. If you really care about your hard earned money and appreciate aesthetics then please stay away from this hotel.

We had a fantastic experience at this Hotel. From the start, the check in staff were excellent and very professional (we checked in early and our room was ready to move in) and we were taken to the room by a lady with smiles and were followed by the bell boy with our bags. The bell boy politely declined to accept our tips. The room was neat and tidy, the sheets were near new and clean and the pillows were very nice and fluffy. The room had beautiful views of the pool and also the lake with so many house boats criss crossing which was delightful to watch. The bathroom was large enough for our use and was well maintained. The house keeping staff did a great job and the room smelt good. The couch was comfortable. We requested an extra bed which was already provided in the room and the house keeping boy came and arranged it for us. The Breakfast area was clean and tidy (we were one of the earliest to go there and all the dishes were fresh and tasty, especially the omelettes and fried eggs, freshly made dosais , idlys and chapathis with many nice side dishes. Freshly brewed coffee was a delight and the desserts were great (after dinner). All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally located and shops were closeby. Supermarket is just a few kms away. The Essence Spa was great too. All 3 of us had amazing ayurvedic massages and access to sauna was great too. Check out was quick and easy as well. Waste of Money, Time, Experience. One cannot have a worst experience than this. RAMADA has its own standards but this property we felt as if it's an adopted child. To begin with - Common washrooms behind the reception is so dirty that it cannot be used, flushes was not functional too. Washrooms cum Changing rooms near swimming pool were so dirty that we had to come back to our rooms to change our clothes back after swimming. Swimming pool is not at all maintained, the tiles are broken which are bound to hurt your feet very often. Washrooms of the room are so old and badly managed that in 2 days we had to call the plumber thrice for each room. Rooms have no feel of hotel of a standard hotel - RAMADA. In the entire corridors and lift there is not air conditioning inspite of the fact that KERALA is so hot in temperature corridors outside room and elevators are a challenge to stand for 5 minutes. While checking out we asked the restaurant manager to get us 5 Aloo Parathas packed for our way. I wish I had the photographs, it looked like a heap of flour hold cooked, 1 paratha was equal to 5 parathas in thickness, we had to donate all on the way to monkeys. Very shameful. Not even basic things can be provided correctly due to which we had to suffer on the way. It is much better to stay in less costly property to at least get basic necessities - CLEANLINESS, GOOD FOOD, AIR CONDITION, A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE. The top management looking after this property should have a deep check. I was on a 10 day tour with my family - 3 night Munnar, 2 nights Allepey 4 night Kovalam. Munnar - The panoramic Getaway Kovalam - The Taj, & LEELA Only Stay in Allepey we dont want to remember or recommend to anyone is of RAMADA ALLEPEY
