Wonderful stay at the Tivoli Doelen Hotel in Amsterdam. From the moment that I stepped foot in the hotel received a warm welcome from the team. They offered refreshing towels and a welcome drink during the check-in. The room was clean and had all amenities I needed during the stay. The breakfast had a great variety of items and the view from the breakfast area is breathtaking! During the entire stay the staff was super helpful and always there were needed! Super friendly! Will definitely come back!

Beautiful hotel with excellent- friendly customer service. The only problem Was that the AC was not working in our room on the 5th floor. They apologized and provided us with a fan (which did help somewhat) and also suggested we open our windows. However it was too noisy at night to sleep with the windows open. Would have been nice to have had working AC during our stay but other than that the hotel is very lovely.

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the hotel's boutique charm and elegant ambiance. Nice breakfast buffet, with a delightful array of options accompanied by freshly made items upon request. The hotel's central location was a true blessing, allowing me to easily explore Amsterdam's iconic landmarks and bustling streets. Whether I was wandering along the canals or browsing the nearby shops, I always felt perfectly situated to immerse myself in the city's vibrant atmosphere. Also nice the the restaurant overlooking the canal. The combination of exquisite cuisine and breathtaking views made the dinner a memorable experience. Overall, my time at the Tivoli Doelen Hotel was really. A big thank you to the whole staff who was always friendly and ready to help.

Stayed in room 306. PROS: Location Historic property View from our room Friendly staff CONS: Minibar in room-we went to put waters in fridge & noticed an empty bottle. Called reception to let them know but on checkout was told we used 2 items from minibar. We used none!!! We only allowed housekeeping in once & it was right before the empty bottle was noticed. Wasn’t told when I called that it was showing we actually used 2 at that time & if housekeeping or someone checked if we used any items then, why wouldn’t it have been removed or replaced at that time? Nobody was in to check prior to checkout either, so it all seemed so shady. They definitely need to be more careful with it. So my advice would be to be sure you check it (and the snack drawer), take pics, &/ or have someone check it when you arrive, or this might happen to you. Because of this incident, we won’t stay at a hotel again if it has a minibar. It added stress & this hotel in all put a bit of a damper on our trip experience. Bed was hard as a brick - might as well have slept on the floor. Both of us woke up each day in pain. Would’ve asked to switch rooms but we feared we’d get something smaller with a less beautiful view yet equally uncomfortable bed. Carpet was disgusting-lots of stains…some quite dark. Sewage smell in reception a couple times-they tried to mask it with some kind of air freshener next day. Elevator was out of order one day. Small room with plain decor - a pic over the bed would be nice & some hooks on the wall near the door. Not really 5 star amenities-I was even told the restaurant was separate from them & I’d need to order if we needed waters….walked a block to Spar convenience store to get them & snacks. We enjoy Amsterdam but will stay elsewhere next time.

We are three days into a four day pre cruise stay here and are so happy we chose this hotel. From the moment we arrived at 0730 through this moment the experience has been fantastic. The entire staff is warm and accommodating from the morning bellman who welcomed us and has been so helpful to the front desk staff including Elena Olga and Ilaria to the entire restaurant staff including Andrea. A big shout out to the bar staff who create memorable cocktails served with a flair. The rooms are lovely and the location is perfect. We are treated like old friends. The breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the canal and is replete with so many wonderful cheeses, local breads and champagne. There is a multi course dinner you can order by request. We watched it being created and it looked amazing and creatively curated.
