Just returned from a 5 night stay at Hotel Negresco Princess. Booked via booking.com and received a free transfer from the airport to the hotel which was perfect as we didn't have to faff around after our flight. Hotel is lovely, very modern, in a central location about 10-15 min walk from placa de catalunya and la rambla. We had an interior room, it was clean but on the small side although we weren't in it long. We were on the 6th floor but it was quite noisy and we could hear them setting up for breakfast, banging the plates and cutlery. The bathroom isn't very private especially as there is a mirror on the wall opposite the sink and there was water running down the wall in the toilet. Bed was comfy, shower was nice and hot. We had a couple of issues with housekeeping, one day we came back to no towels at all so had to ask reception who had house keeping bring some up straight away. We used the pool towels on the first day and put them in the laundry bin on the rooftop but they were never replaced in our room. There was an iron in the cupboard which we used one day and left out on the desk to cool down, the next day we couldn't find it anywhere, it had been removed from our room and had to ring reception who brought one straight up. There was 5 complimentary drinks in the fridge which were restocked every day and this was a nice touch however we asked reception if they could swap the beer for a soft drink and they said no it wasn't possible. The rooftop pool is nice but smaller than it looks on the photos and is very shallow. There aren't many seats and it was busy every time we went. Breakfast was nice, lots of variety to choose from and saved us from having to find somewhere, we could go straight out once we'd eaten. However, the juices, milks and yoghurt were warm rather than cold. The reception helped us sort a taxi back to the airport and stored our luggage after check out. Overall this was a lovely hotel in a great location and I would definitely stay here again

Stayed for a second time with my partner. Lovely hotel/ staff very helpful and the rooms very clean. We had a room with balcony two sun loungers was a nice touch. The rooftop bar was really nice and the food and cocktails a must. Will definitely stay again.

I had the misfortune to fall down the steps at the entrance of the hotel, badly gashing my forehead. The caring response from the staff was excellent. I have to single out Ruben who rang for an ambulance and held an umbrella over me to keep off the sun whilst waiting for the ambulance to arrive. He also provided me with an ice pack to hold on the wound. We had a 3 night stay, on a B&B basis, in the hotel which is just a few minutes walk from Plaça Catalunya. We would certainly stay in this hotel should we ever return to Barcelona.

Just home from a one week stay at the Negresco Princess hotel in Barcelona. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The location is great, walking distance to a lot of attractions, restaurants and bars. There are 3 metro stations near by which will take you to any attraction (metro system very easy to use). The staff were very friendly and the housekeeping was spot on. We had an issue on the first day with our shower, there was no hot water coming from it, we informed reception and it was fixed within a couple of hours. The mini bar was restocked every day with 5 drinks free of charge which was a nice touch (2 waters, fresh orange, coke and a beer). We had a room with a balcony, the room was a decent size, bed was very comfy, bathroom was good and spacious, the balcony was good as well with great views. The only let down about the room was the tv. The hotel has a rooftop bar and pool and sauna. These are all good. The rooftop bar and pool aren’t the biggest, the pool will hold about 8-10 people comfortably and is pretty shallow, but it is a rooftop pool after all. The rooftop bar also slightly on the small side, but we got a seat every time we went. There are some great views from the roof. One thing we were a bit disappointed about was the wear and tear around the hotel. The carpets were a bit dirty and worn, the walls damaged/dirty in some areas, curtains in the room stained. Nothing terrible, but it did let the place down a little. This is the only reason we are giving it a 4 star rather than 5. Would recommend for couples staying in Barcelona.

My kids and I attended the hotels breakfast buffet. It was a great disappointment. There were a lot of choices, but the quality of each thing was truly low. Served in a room with very bad acoustics and no ambiance. Coffee made with powdered milk Juice made from an automate from water mixed with something and supposed to end up fresh? Bread that was jenuine and boring, not homemade. Fried eggs with a crust on the yolk very little homemade Very little taste There is a conflict between price and quality, you cannot serve such a bad breakfast with that price. Location and roof terrasse was nice. Rooms were medium. They tried to charge me turist tax on my kids, not realy honest way of earning money.
