****Before you book this hotel (or any other hotel in the U.S.) make sure that you are aware of any extra fees (resort fee. destination fee) that maybe tacked on at the end of your stay. This ludicrous behaviour has become epidemic in the U.S. This hotel is in an upscale, quiet area. At least my room was. A quick ride to the Loop and a skip to the waterfront area. It's an old place but the hotel overall looked in good condition. Not sure why the lobby bar was never open and woke up to late for breakfast but they did provide bottled water for the room. The room was quite adequate. I would book here again if the price was right.

The staff were unfriendly, no restaurant/bar available. ( As if we were intruding on them) The rooms were ok, but facilities of 2 paper cups 2 plastic bags with a whitner/sugar. A four star hotel with bad/breakfast facilities. The took money on the 2/5/24, for reasons I'm not sure and still have not refunded my account. 16 DAYS LATER. I will never use this place again, nor recommend to friends/family. If you book a cruise with Cruise2.com Alaska. They include this hotel. REFUSE TO STAY HERE.

The hotel is a fine old building and well located just off the magnificent mile. We booked a superior room and the room itself was fine except that the only view was of air conditioning pipes and a fire escape. The TV purported to offer Netflix but the WiFi was so slow that it wouldn't work . Breakfast was okay but expensive for what it was. Cocktail bar made a good Old Fashioned.

Good hotel in great location. A couple of niggles, singular paper cups for tea and coffee. Biggest niggle is the daily service charge $24. We objected to this and were assured a refund by the manager Nr Gabaldi. Sent two emails still waiting replies and off course our refund! Stay 22 - 24/04/2024 ref 255-7367919

If you are particular, you might have found something to complain about. For us, the most important thing is a comfortable bed and a clean room and that was surely the case! We checked in a little earlier than required with no hassle, which was a pleasant surprise! The staff was professional.
