Style over substance. We are currently here and these are some points I would make: * saying this has 6 pools is a stretch. There are pools that are split into 2/3/4 so it’s not 6 actual big pools. *breakfast is not as good as elsewhere that we have stayed. If you are a fan of buffet breakfast it’s ok, but choices are not extensive and food labelling is non existent maybe there are no laws around food labelling here but again, Dubai Oman and Abu Dhabi do very well in this regard. **food sits around and is lukewarm in the containers. I had a pancake yesterday and it was stone cold at the buffet. *beware the upgrade offer. We arrived at 830 am and of course check in isn’t until later. We were offered a room upgrade that happened to be “ready now” we paid but still did not get access until 2 pm! ***building works. We were not advised of this and the incessant drilling was wearing to be honest. You could hear it everywhere. *service is slow even though occupancy is low ** sea view also has building works in the centre of the view. **My own fault I know, but I assumed that there was a buffet evening meal but there isn’t. Half board does not work in some of the restaurants. ****vegetarian options are very limited. Step back in time to the 80’s my fellow veggies. Welcome to a menu with just one or two choices in some places. Be prepared to eat out for variety. *arabic bread at breakfast was wrapped in cling film. It looked a bit rubbish if I am honest. A true 5 star would have fresh bread replaced at intervals but this is just wrapped in cling film in a basket!! Plus- rooms are big. Nice sofa and bedding is lovely. Staff at the spa were nice and gave me a little face massage whilst I was choosing my treatment. So overall for me not at all a 5 star, more 3.5 Kempinski Oman Muscat is far superior. Would not use Kempinski again.

We went to celebrate some special event yesterday in this hotel ( public house) together with my friends and our kids. We love the food and most specially the serviced we got. Since we have kids, we dropped them in kids club, the staff name Aleli was so welcoming and made our kids comfortable. She even teaches our kids to make a Mother’s Day card which is a very heart warming act. On behalf of us I would like to give thanks to her genuine services. We will definitely comeback.

Have been staying at Kempinski and has turned into a second home now . Besides the best location, outstanding view and comfort, unbelievable design it is the staff that makes all the difference. Imen, Najla, and Elise are masters of what they do and deserve all the admiration.

Amazing hotel with some issues

I would like to give this hotel five stars and I do really like it but there are some issues I experienced during my stay. The hotel itself is really beautiful, the staff are nice and welcoming. There are so many paintings and pieces of art you feel like you're in a palace. Sadly i cannot give it five stars at the moment. Overall the room was clean but the shower was not cleaned properly, I could see the rust and dirt around the hinges of the shower door, and the walls could be cleaned better. Secondly, the phone in my room was not functioning well, each time i tried to contact reception it was cutting off. The beach club was good but i experienced an issue with the buttons by the umbrella to call for service, it seems like the button doesn't work properly, nothing happens when you press the button so i had to get the attention of the staff myself. Nevertheless the staff were wonderful, they were always happy to help, attentive and welcoming, a special thank you to: Kumar, Wyclife, Chaminda and Bishal. The other issue I had was the spa changing room. on Fridays, lots of locals come to use the hotel facilities, especially the beach, so it becomes very busy. The spa changing rooms are used by the beach club and it seems like the staff were overwhelmed with the busyness and couldn't keep up with how busy it was, it was smelling of urine and untidy. Additionally running out of clean towels. It looked like a disaster in there which is not the right reflection of this type of hotel, particularly for the spa. It was okay on the other days, however some shower features and lockers locks were broken. Also, there is no complementary sauna for women-only (there is for men) which is a shame, only if you use spa treatment. Can this be please be provided for hotel guests like other hotels do? The dinning experience: the main restaurant which serves a breakfast buffet as well as a la carte lunch and dinner. The breakfast team, management and chef are amazing, the food is delicious and happy to cook for your request, everything is just perfect, a big thank you to everyone involved, especially the chef for cooking on our request. The dinning team (in the evening) was a complete disaster. We ordered simple dishes, we had to wait for one hour and a half for our dishes to be prepared, at the time the restaurant was empty (I wonder why). One of the dishes we ordered, roasted potatoes, which after waiting they brought us unedible, completely raw and burnt potatoes, with only a few small pieces (see the photo). After complaining to the chef and sending the food back, we received a rude response and was given back the same undercooked food. We were dining there two nights and both nights the service from the chef was unprofessional. This is not the standard I expect from a kempinski hotel. The good thing was the waiting staff which were really supportive, understood our situation and tried to save our evening. a huge thank you to Noor Adin. Fantastic customer service. Overall, I will not discourage anyone from this hotel, it really is amazing. Should you make this your travel destination? The answer is yes. I just hope they resolve these issues. Is this really luxury hotel hospitatility? Kempinski fix it.
