I stayed at the Maldron Hotel, Pearse Street in Dublin between 22 and 29 April. I had a very pleasant experience. All members of the reception staff, in particular Gabriel, Leonard, Johana and Claudia, and the night manager (I forgot his name), were attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I also very much enjoyed the delicious buffet breakfast each morning put together by the restaurant manager Colin. For my accommodation, I was given one of the apartments located in an annex around the corner from the main building, which was super comfortable. The hotel is about an 8 minute walk from the Convention Center and about a 8-10 minute walk from Trinity College, and thus conveniently located. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Cost a little over what it was worth, but it was clean and the staff were friendly. Cooked breakfast was OK-ish but the coffee was terrible and apple juice watery. Handy location if you don't mind a walk.

In my personal assessment, this hotel falls short of its 4-star rating. Having frequented numerous establishments of similar standing, I found this one lacking. The initial impression upon entering was underwhelming - the ambiance was lackluster and the receptionist, while efficient, lacked warmth. Even during a quiet period, a basic level of hospitality such as a greeting, a welcome, and a farewell should have been extended. Although the room itself was tidy, the incessant noise from the air conditioning and plumbing disrupted any hope of restful sleep. Breakfast was disorganized and chaotic, with small plates adding to the frenzy. Although the food was palatable, the lack of coordination was notable. I encountered a manager in the dining area who, despite an initial greeting, responded brusquely to my query about the tea. Additionally, the parking situation in the basement was inconvenient and potentially hazardous, particularly for families or those with larger vehicles. Overall, I would only recommend this hotel for a brief, one-night stay. The unwelcoming atmosphere, coupled with issues such as noisy surroundings and lack of staff friendliness, left much to be desired.

Friendly & helpful staff, really nice food too. Great steak sandwich 🙂 when given my room I asked for another closer to the lift which they sorted for me no question. Rooms are spacious bright clean and comfortable. I would have given 5 stars except parking was badly explained to me by Johan’s
