I had high expectations from a brand like Lemon Tree, which is why I chose this hotel over others in the vicinity that were offering significantly lower prices. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the brand's reputation. Here is my detailed observation: Arrival and Check-In: Right from the entrance, the experience was underwhelming. There was no reception desk visible at the entrance, and we had to navigate our way to find it. Initially, I thought we were at the employee entrance, but a security guard informed us that it was indeed the guest entrance and directed us to the lobby on the first floor. Upon reaching the lobby, the staff did not acknowledge our arrival and seemed preoccupied with their own tasks. We informed them of our check-in, and they handed us the room key without any guidance on how to find our room. Usually, in hotels of this caliber, guests are escorted to their rooms, but this courtesy was missing, perhaps indicating we had overestimated their service standards. This is not what one would expect from a 4-star hotel. Room Condition: Our first room had a strong, unpleasant odor of dampness mixed with cigarette smoke and the hotel's signature lemon scent. It was clear that no one had checked the room before our arrival. Upon our request, we were moved to another room, which was marginally better. The room was very small, with a bed that seemed to be around 4 feet by 5.5 feet, unsuitable for taller guests. The corridors were dirty, and the overwhelming lemon fragrance was everywhere, to the point of being unpleasant. It seemed like the only thing the hotel was attentive to was the lemon scent, while everything else was neglected. Dining Experience: Our dining experience at the hotel's coffee shop was equally disappointing. The dinner buffet around 9 pm looked unappetizing, with salads and vegetables that appeared dried out and like they had been sitting there for ages. The entire buffet was unappealing. When we requested to speak to a manager, we were told that none of the key managers (General Manager, F&B Manager, Executive Chef, or Duty Manager) were available. Eventually, a deputy hotel manager listened to our complaints and assured us of improvements. After our complaint, the staff, especially in the coffee shop, were more attentive, and the fresh food served for dinner was delicious. Breakfast the next morning was also up to standard. Pool Area: The pool seemed intentionally kept out of service, perhaps to avoid getting it dirty. Although the pool was clean and full of water, the door was closed and inaccessible to guests. This added to the overall sense of neglect and lack of hospitality. Conclusion: While the staff eventually took good care of us after we complained, such issues should not arise in the first place in a 4-star hotel. Guests paying for these facilities deserve consistent quality and attention to detail. I would urge potential guests to consider other hotels in the vicinity that offer better facilities at lower prices. Unless you are particularly fond of the lemon fragrance, I would not recommend staying at this property.
