Good Hotel with good modern rooms ... Staff were pleasant and helpful.... The best part of the hotel is the location with a lot of good restaurants, cafes and clubs... Walking distance from the most of the good Shopping mall..... Taipei 101 is also close by and worth visiting....

Was a big fan of this hotel. Central and conveniently located. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and modern. Equipped with a Toto bidet which was awesome. Gym equipment wasn’t the latest and greatest but effective and spacious. They have a decent sized pool and hot tub available which is great too. A bit pricey but you get your money’s worth.

Overall, this Le Meridien property exceeded our expectations. We requested an upgrade with my Titanium status, which they were able to honor. We just had to wait in the lounge for 30 minutes, while they set up the room. It was definitely worth it. Their suite is incredible and actually reminds me of suites I've stayed in at St. Regis Hotels. The room is modern with electronic switches you expect in Asia. The bathroom is stunning and massive. It was nice for our loyalty to be recognized. I did read other reviews about the lounge being small and limited. We only really used the lounge once and that was waiting for check in. It did seem small. We had breakfast mostly around Taipei, but the one breakfast buffet we did enjoy on the checkout day was ok. It was not bad and it was not amazing. The gym is spacious and has plenty of equipment for a 3 night stay. I did let them know there seems be an issue with ventilation where sometimes tobacco smoke gets wafted in the gym, which is not ideal. I suppose someone smokes near there in the AM when we went. Overall, we found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the housekeeping staff attentive. This is a solid 4 star hotel that I think approaches a 5 star. The value is there as well. I think what made it a 5 star review was that they valued our Titanium status. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, nice room, small lounge with bad food, inflexible reception

Location is really good and convenient in the middle of Xinyi district. Next to shopping malls, food etc. The room is nice and modern, honestly better than expected in terms of hardware. The lounge is pretty terrible. On top floor and given that the hotel actually has a relative higher concentration of suites (called junior suites but they are proper executive suites), many have access so it’s crowded. On top of that, the food is not great. Not only is the selection narrow, the food also doesn’t taste good. Day after day it’s similar unattractive food. And the lounge is way too small as well. To top that off, if you have a third person in the room, they want to charge you US$100 per night for that. Are you kidding? And no, no flex for this charge of course. Also no special treatment for Ambassador Elites. We asked for earlier check in (1:30pm) - can’t be accommodated. I still give this a generous 4 stars given room quality.

Not a real Meridien: no lobby, average facilities, service (way) less than forthcoming. For that price Taipei has much better to offer, Regent, Shangri La, Hyatt from the top of my head ...and I don't even know the city that well. Good if you need a dull place in a good location.
