I made a reservation through booking.com from England. I sent a message and an e-mail stating that I could not come because the organized event was canceled and that I had to cancel. I couldn't reach you by phone. I have never encountered such a situation anywhere I had to cancel. Nobody answers messages.

I spent one night here whilst transiting through Madrid. The location was very good. An easy walk to the Plaza Mayor and other central attractions. Perhaps 20 minutes to Reina Sofia etc. Guy on reception was friendly and helpful. Forthcoming with information. I left my bag there after check out and got to come back and hang out for a little while before my train left (It's very close to Principe Pio station, that mostly why I chose it.) The inside of the building is quite stylish and would have been nice to relax in. Had I been staying longer. My room was pleasant, comfortable, styled. However, the shower was right in the room, not in anyway separated or with own ventilation, not ideal. And it overflowed without needing to take an excessively long shower, I could see it was going to before I'd even started. Bad design. Speaking of bad design, the toilet was just right there in the room, not at all separated. Prison style! Who on earth thought that this would be an acceptable way to design the room?! It was 'ok' for me who was alone but wouldn't have been at all pleasant for a couple, or two friends sharing. I'm blown away at this awful design. See picture. I had breakfast there. It was standard and filling. I'd have given it 4/5 if it wasn't for the prison toilet.

A Fantastic hostel with private rooms in a prime location of Madrid. The Hostel felt peaceful and relaxing and you could not have asked more from the staff and service. The continental breakfast was unreal and the location was right by the palace and a short 20-minute walk into the centre of Madrid. Next to the hostel is a metro station which will easily take you to where you need to be. For the price you could struggle to find a hostel as good as this one.

within easy walk of city centre ( 10/15 mins to Puerta del Sol) compact but interestingly decorated and furnished pleasant staff rooms are clean location is not posh breakfast is good, cold buffet only downside in our room was the the partition between the toilet and sleeping area doesn't go all the way to the ceiling. you will get to know your room mates intimately! I went with mates. If I came back to Madrid with my wife I would return to LaNave

LaNave is listed as a hostel but you can forget anything like a hostel as soon as you walk through the door. Set in a quiet but perfectly safe 'alley' off a street 5 minutes walk from the Royal Palace it is a converted old factory which has been redesigned to give 15 rooms, breakfast area and large public areas with a small patio.. The interior design makes fabulous use of retro and antique furniture whilst retaining some interesting features from it's former use. The rooms are cleverly designed to include a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin. The comfortable bed is king-size, the bedding and towels of very good quality. Our towels were changed after 3 days despite the fact that we were leaving the next day. Rooms are cleaned each day to a very high standard. Breakfast is, amazingly, included in the price and was more than adequate, with fresh orange juice, and a fine selection of things to eat and set you up for the day. Coffee and tea are available throughout the day. We were welcomed by Rosa, who is available all day and very helpful, and met Elena, the owner, who is very hands-on and happy to make suggestions or reservations at restaurants. Really, the most amazing thing about LaNave is not the perfect rooms, lovely service, or even central location - but the price. To find somewhere of such quality and attention to detail at just 69euros a day, in the middle of a European capital city is exceptional. I would recommend LaNave without any hesitation. A real gem, thank you Elena and Rosa!
