After initially writing a very poor review of this hotel I think it is only fair to update my review to show how the staff really made a comeback. On the first evening we had some communication issues regarding faults with the room(s). In a nutshell several of the rooms had a mould smell and furnishings were faulty, walls and carpets stained and scuffed etc. However, we stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and since writing my review on the first night my view has changed due to the very genuine and obvious attempts by the manager and other staff to put things right. We were upgraded to another room on night 2 which was spacious, smelled nice and everything worked - no complaints. Although breakfast is busy the selection of food is great, offering Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, European and vegetarian dishes. The buffet is regularly topped up and the staff are very attentive. The gym is great with a good range of equipment and a selection of free weights and dumbbells. Water and towels are provided. There are showers, a sauna and steam room in the changing areas although we didn’t use these. The rooftop pool and bar are really impressive with the infinity pool overlooking the city. Staff at the bar in the evening were very friendly and helpfully provided us with suggestions of places to visit in the city. The foyer area is modern, clean and nicely decorated with large chandeliers and a piano. You are served with refreshing drinks upon arrival and departure and your bags are taken care of by the bell boys. Concierge were also very polite and helped me to call a local business to speak to them on my behalf. In my initial review I mentioned the conduct of room service for which I want to apologise. In hindsight I should not complain about enthusiastic or friendly people and perhaps I did not appreciate that some things may get lost in translation. To room service, I am sorry - do not dim your sunshine! A special mention to the manager who really went out of her way to make our stay a good one in the end. Thank you for understanding and for making the effort to resolve the issues. Room for improvement: I thinks it’s fair to say there may be a ventilation issue with some of the rooms as I don’t think we were the only customers reporting a mould/damp smell. A simple solution is a reed diffuser like the one used in the room we were upgraded to. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner is fixed to the wall in the shower. It would be nice if these were provided for the bath also with somewhere to put them. Furniture such as chair and tables throughout the hotel are scuffed, chipped or broken with screws and nails poking out. These need to be removed or replaced as someone could really hurt themselves. Carpets could also do with a steam clean and stains on walls painted over etc. Breakfast is until 9:30, this is quite early to end breakfast for a 5* hotel with so many people. 10/10:30 am might be more reasonable especially as people may have travelled the night before etc. I appreciate this is a new hotel and the feedback from its customers is important for it to learn and improve. I don’t think the hotel itself is 5 star but the staff really excel when put to the test.

Great hotel to stay in District 3. We enjoyed this hotel immensely. The room was clean and at level 11. The pool on the 27th floor was lovely and very big. The cost of staying at this hotel is very satisfactory for a 5-star hotel. The only negative for us, breakfast restaurant is not large enough to accommodate hundreds hotel patrons in the morning. We recommend two restaurants for breakfast time. The breakfast time is up to 9:30am. This is a bit weird as other 5-star hotels have at least up to 10:00am.
