Hotel request for credit card details

I had booked the Kenilworth for a 5 night stay through Booking.com and received confirmation. I then had requests from the hotel via booking.com that the hotel needed my credit card details, telephone number, e-mail address and copy of passport. In the light of recent scams I ignored the e-mails as I was unwilling to forward the details requested. However the day before I was due to travel I learned that the Kenilworth had cancelled my booking due to my not forwarding payment details. They sent an e-mail to say that they would cancel the booking but I did not pick this up as we were travelling. Hence a warning to all future Kenilworth guests that if the hotel request credit card and passport details this is not a scam as they will cancel your booking if they are not forwarded. I thought it worthwhile writing this review although we were unable to stay. Obviously my wife and I were disappointed but I have given them an excellent grading so I don't compromise what looks like an excellent hotel.

We honestly had one the most amazing stays at the Kenilworth Goa Resort and Spa. The staff was exceptional. We are so thankful we chose this beautiful resort for our destination wedding. We would like to extend a special mention to Rajesh, Events Manager who helped us plan our wedding from the beginning. He was always keen to make our events very special and went went above and beyond for all his guests. He extended to us always a very warm hospitality, was extremely professional and polite and has been utmost friendly to my entire family and friends. He went above and beyond to make our wedding run smoothly in all aspects. Anytime we needed anything, he made sure he arranged it for us in a prompt and efficient manner and always approachable and keen to help. Thank you so much Rajesh, our dream wedding would not have been possible without your hard work attention to detail and dedication to our event, we thank you very much. Ryna and her front desk team at the checkin was warm and welcoming and greeted our guests with a beautiful custom welcome. Ryna was in touch before our arrival to make sure all was organised for when we came and this made our experience arriving at the hotel very easy and well managed. I would like to thank them all, Ryna, Priya ,Lovelita, Pooja, Veena , Joshila, Felcy, Line kar, Akshay,Avijit, Pradip and Bipul. Throughout our stay you were all approachable and always made sure we had everything we needed sent to our rooms to ensure our comfortable and pleasant stay at all time. All of the restaurant staff was extremely kind friendly and they had taken such responsibility for making sure my family was exceptionally well fed. Huge thank you to Shashi, Rupam, Midas and Bhupal for always making our dining experiences lovely and for always serving us with a big smile. The hotel has excellent facilities, a beautiful pool and 2 mins walking to a beautiful beach at its doorstep. The Palms restaurant had wonderful live music every evening with a lovely dining atmosphere. They have plenty of water activities and indoor and outdoor games for the kids. Besides the large outdoor pool by the bar, they have huge spa and salon along with complimentary indoor pool activities along with steam and jacuzzi. Thank you so much to Dr Reshma and Manju in the Myra spa for giving us truly exceptional treatments, leaving us feeling relaxed and refreshed. A lot of our guests enjoyed the spa treatments and commented on what a wonderful experience it was for them. The Kenilworth property easily converts into a magnificent wedding ceremony location at sunset. The stunning court yard , the charming well-manicured lawns by the pool ,the pool-side itself, all served us well for all the many events. The Pavillion hall was also perfect for our reception. Chef Tanmoy was incredible. He went above and beyond to make sure the food was to our taste, helped us design an incredible reception menu and always came to greet us with a huge smile and check everything was okay. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was, all the international as well as Indian options, how well presented it was with a careful balance of flavours and spices at all meals and events and it is some of the best food we have eaten in the whole of Goa. Thank you very much Chef, you are extremely talented. I couldn’t recommend Kenilworth Goa Resort and Spa more highly. It's definitely a great choice for a life time memorable experience! Thank you all staff for making our wedding a dream experience come true for us, the beautiful memories will always remain in our hearts and the hearts of our guests. We cannot wait to visit again to relive the magical experience.
