What a truly 5 star experience on our Holiday…. Nany our beautiful room attendant with her creative towel designs left for us daily, her welcoming smile . Facilities were excellent, the infinity pool amazing 🥰 the roof top bar with its view…. Just amazing. Thank you to the breakfast lady who Noorood, so very thoughtful and very kind. Everyone made us feel special.

We booked this hotel largely based on the location (not right in the middle of the Patong Beach madness!) and that proved a good choice. We have been to Phuket a few times so we appreciate being a little way out of town but just a short tuk-tuk or hotel shuttle away from the centre. We were shattered on arrival after 24hrs of travelling from the UK so it was really nice to be greeted with a drink and cold towels. We did have to wait a few hours for our room to be ready but that was just arrival timing and the hotel did their best to accelerate this for us. First impressions of the hotel are mixed - whilst overall it appears very smart and contemporary, it is clearly in need of some maintenance and some areas were screened off pending repair. Maintaining this 'sharp' look in Thailand's climate is going to be very difficult and expensive and I'm very glad it's not my job! Our room was a sea view with balcony and corner bath at the front of the hotel, and the view was spectacular with two walls of glass looking straight out across the bay. Being very close to the main road means road noise and the hotel actually provides ear plugs in the room - a first for me but they were needed. If this is an issue for you, be sure to request a room in a block further back - it is clear this is why our room was more reasonably priced, but overall still totally worth it for the wonderful sea view. The blocks further back have the same views available, and get progressively grander at the top with pool villas etc. It is stated that the hotel has a lot of steps - and it does!!! If you are at all infirm this is probably not the hotel for you. There are lifts but even so it is built on a very steep site and is not that easy getting around. The main lift was out of service for a couple of days during our stay so that must have been very difficult for some people - breakfast is on the 6th floor!!! Most people use the main infinity pool in the centre of the hotel - a lovely pool with a great view over the bay and a central pool bar. Be warned, if you don't like Instagram you will struggle with the constant photo taking at the pool. It really looked as if many of the guests were only there for the photo opportunity and it just never stopped. You can find quieter spots, and there is a smaller 25m pool at the top of the hotel that is not as scenic or with bar etc, but much quieter and actually a very decent exercise pool. In hindsight we were maybe a bit old for this hotel, so that is on us - we favour relaxing over selfies these days.... The above aside, what we really did enjoy about this hotel most was the staff - they are lovely!!! I'm not sure why, but UK guests are in the minority here and a lot of the guests were pretty rude to staff, just demanding to be served and not very willing to interact at all. We found that unusual and unpleasant - we really do like to engage with staff and guests alike on our travels, and this was just not the norm. The majority of the guests were Japanese/Chinese/Indian so maybe just cultural differences, but we found it strange and it must be difficult for the staff, who were unfailingly friendly if you made the effort. As we were staying for 10 nights, we made a point of engaging with the staff and we really did enjoy that aspect of the trip - they were lovely! There are far too many people to name, and not everyone had name badges, but special mentions to: X-man, Dome and Ink - made us some great drinks (including much appreciated off-menu Cosmopolitan cocktails for my wife), happy to chat and have fun and worked really hard in very hot conditions. X-man could have his own show, as a close magician he is brilliant and was always ready for an impromptu show. He entertained so many people in our time there and really was a stand out, so much appreciated by me and my family. Thang in the gym - who went out of his way to attend some yoga sessions with my yogi wife. The gym is pretty good by hotel standards and airconditioned, which is essential!!! Toni and the front desk team - who were all lovely and looked after us very well. Toni went to great lengths to make my wife's stay enjoyable, including resolving some room issues and making special arrangements for her birthday. A lot of people helped with these, but Toni was key to arranging all of it - she really appreciated these special touches. Pang and the team in Malika - many of the team are trainees and did not have badges, but they were so friendly and helpful throughout! Pang was a star and when my wider family came over for dinner, she helped my parents negotiate the lift/stairs and was really so attentive - thank you all. And last by by no means least, special mention to Neepong our room maid - the most smiley, happy person you could ever wish to meet, just such a nice person. Aside from keeping our room beautifully clean, I think she and my wife have bonded for life and she will be missed!!! These moments are the things that make your holiday memorable, so if you go, take the time to engage, you will get it back in spades - a very special team. Thank you to everyone at Kalima!!

Amazing experience, i enjoyed my time in the resort, tony was super professional and helpful from the reception, friendly staff that drive us to the villa and kind with the kids, halal food at restaurant malika, best Japanese restaurant in phuket from my opinion, ill come again for sure. If your taking the villas, close the door to avoid insects entering to your room.
