Location of the hotel was good as it is within walking distance to EmQuartier and Emsphere malls. Room was spacious but not bright. Breakfast was average and there was little local options.

Hyatt Place is a clean and modern hotel, really nice rooms, comfortable beds, big TV, great shower nice and hot and just generally incredibly comfortable. The bar is simple there was not much of a breeze the day I was up but Bangkok has been incredibly hot this year, the chicken wings were nice and the beer was good. Service fantastic! Breakfast buffet is not stand out but good value for money, and a nice mix of both western and Asian foods. Pool was nice, great view and just about the right size for a few guests. I’d highly recommend this hotel and in fact I’ve marked it as my go to moving forward for the many weekends I spend in Bangkok!!

Hyatt Place - A great place to stay!

1st time in Thailand. I started at Park Hyatt, then went on to Phuket - stayed at Hyatt Regency. Then went in to Vietnam - stayed at the Hyatt Regency (da nang). Now back in Thailand, here at Hyatt Place for my last 2days in Thailand and this Hyatt has been an absolute pleasure. From the check-in process to getting a glass of wine at the restaurant has been seamless. Beer, the server at Aire (the restaurant in Hyatt Place) is amazing, always around before even needing any service. He has made my last 2days in Thailand even that more memorable. Looking forward to coming back here again in the near future.

I have stayed at this hotel before but I am definitely not a regular because more often than not, it seems quite overpriced for what it is. I only stay when stars align such as for my most recent stay; my main takeaway was such that my opinion has not changed from what it was. If this hotel was not part of Hyatt chain I would find no reason to stay again. The participation in the Hyatt program is what brings me back occasionally to earn elite qualifying nights. The problem with this hotel is that cash rates are pegged at a level with hotels a notch above them, including many hotels from other chains which have a club lounge and who upgrade elites of loyalty programs to suites. Hyatt Place typically does not upgrade Hyatt Globalists to suites - upgrades are usually to the "specialty" room type and even on my latest stay those were not available so I got a lesser room which was not that nice because of the weird low windows rather than floor to ceiling. If upgrades are not possible due to high occupancy, the least they could do is to wisely select room assignments within the lesser room type to repeat Globalist guests, but apparently not. Staying at HP with points is not a lot better than paying cash. The regular 5000 pts per night is not that cheap and only 2 days out of 365 days are marked "off peak" (3500 points) which is a bit ridiculous. Anyway I stayed during that once in a blue moon day for the lowest possible but that's pretty much the only situation where I would pick this hotel considering the numerous alternatives in Bangkok. Breakfast used to be quite weak and thankfully it has improved. A bit. It's still not on par with hotels in this price range but at least it's no longer a breakfast I would invariably skip. To name a couple examples, for award redemptions I can stay for a similar approximate value of points at Crowne Plaza Lumpini (IHG) or for cash I can stay at Mercure Sukhumvit 11 (Accor) which is usually cheaper than HP, both of which upgrade to suites and have a decent lounge. HP does not have any glaring weakness to be honest which is why they clearly do not deserved to be rated 1/5 or 2/5. A rating of 3/5 seems fair. The problem is exclusively that they price themselves too high but if they find enough guests to pay the price tag that they want, then more power to them, why not? But who is paying them simply won't be me unless Hyatt is running a juicy promo and even then I would probably pick Park Hyatt or Hyatt Regency for more money instead.
