Rude staff and no true amenities to warrant the 4 stars it boasts (no restaurant besides breakfast, no fitness, everything else is for a fee, including water and coffee, etc.). And no, having recommended places in the "neighborhood" does not qualify as a hotel amenity! (they tried to send me to a paid fitness center almost a kilometer away...) It is clean and located centrally; those are the positives. Beyond that, one can do much better for the same price in other hotels. The rude staff is the real downer; a completely ridiculous complication to an underwhelming hotel. I recommend finding another location and enjoying your Berlin stay rather than staying here. Never again for me.

Fantastic location if you want to be in the Steglitz area, friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms- however, we felt like back in the 70s with the green/yellow carpets and wicker chairs etc! decor is massively outdated plus they charge 1 euro for coffee when this was complimentary in all berlin hotels we stayed in. I’d still recommend the place if you want to stay in the south-west area due to the impeccably clean and huge rooms and the good customer service!

Great 3 night stay at this lovely spacious and reasonably priced hotel. Very helpful staff and wonderful breakfasts. Though it was a bit out of the Berlin city centre, it was very easy to get into the city with the excellent bus, train and underground services. This area was in itself very nice and hotel is just across the road from a square with water fountain which attracted a guitar playing busker on a Friday, market on Saturdays and flea market on Sundays. About a miles walk will take you to the Botanic Gardens and lovely eateries, bars, restaurants and good shopping area with Schloss Shopping Mall all at hand. A very vibrant but quiet area.

sadly we have very bad experience with The receptionist The receptionist behaved with us in a very very very disrespectful manner. This happened on Saturday night at 2:30 am The hotel door was locked and we were outside in the cold weather for a time Then he prevented me from taking my girl to her room, even though I told him that I would not stay here and that I would leave in five minutes, Then he refused to sit my girl in the lobby and asked us to leave or he would call the police and started threatening us in a manner without respect and screaming as if we were in his house and not in a respectable 4-star hotel !!!!! Then I asked him to call the manager but he yelled at me and told me that he is the manager and he does not have a manager Then he started repeating words in a strange language, maybe Hindi or Arabic, as if he was cursing us If he was able to erase this complaint from the e-mail, we will send it to several other places and we will put it in the description on the Internet and in booking and in all places because we do not accept to pay and book for a room in a respectable hotel and receive insult instead of a good word and good behavior He must learn to speak with customers with respect and tact and Etiquette ..I am a teacher and my girl is a marketing director. If he requested an extra amount, we would not refuse to accept and pay him I am sure the management of Hotel they will do something for keep the customers and people with good treatment and good services

Let us start with the good news first. The location is relatively good, close to a connection hub in Southern Berlin. But here is where it ends. Other than that, it is a run-down place with an 80ies charme, equipped with grandesse only in the stiff prices. The rudeness of the staff is legendary. I must also admit that I am increasingly allergic to main staff in hotels that is unable to speak German or English or any language common in Western societies. My recommendation is to avoid this place. The hotels of the Motel One brand in Berlin are good.
