Victor and all the staff, have been very polite and helpful. Excellent location, and the breakfast is excellent ( included in my package). Very comfortable bed and beautiful views. Very surprised to have a bath with my shower. Fridge in room. Only thing missing was a Kettle. I thought this was included, but after asking, I was told it wasn't. 24 desk reception and I have felt very safe staying here. Maybe other guests could be more considerate and not slam their doors shut.(not the hotels fault) But overall, very happy I choose this hotel. As I booked for one week. The entrance to the is a door between shops so easily missed. The reception area was nice and we were met by two ladies. The lift upto the room bring you out on walkways with open windows into a covered courtyard area. There is a bar area but we didn’t visit it. Central location accessible to shopping areas Metro is below the main paths in Las Ramblas so you can feel some vibrations Okay so there are a couple of negatives: We booked a twin and were given a double (didn’t really want to share a bed with my teenage daughter) asked but there was nothing they could do. Breakfast was included but it’s not in the hotel it’s down the road at Cafe Opera. The room was very very hot and we were unable to leave the French doors open as our room was straight onto Las Ramblas (4th floor), the air con didn’t work but suspect this is because it’s classed as Spanish winter so the heating was on. Despite the reservation information saying that kids under 17 were exempt from tourist tax we were charged for my daughter. Due to the walkway design noise does travel across the floor Las ramblas is alive both day and night so you need to accept some noise.

We have stayed in this hotel before and always enjoyed it; would visit there again! Very convenient to walk the Gothic Quarter. Staff was attentive to allow us leaving our baggage to tour the city until our room was ready. Utilized safety deposit box and when room was ready discovered the safe was not secured to anything and had dead batteries. Bedside lamp was missing a bulb. Mini fridge and wine cooler did not cool. Bed frame was bigger than mattress causing severe black and blue toes unless you had shoes on! Bathroom and shower were perfect; the size of the shower was great. Soap and shampoo, along with hand soap are provided and nice. Our room had a view of the Rambla, although it was on the first floor right next to the restaurant and bar. Loud music, and WC right outside the door slammed loudly. Had to purchase ice from the bar, would have been fine with a couple of glasses of ice to take to our room. Again, staff was friendly and accommodating, would visit again!

Do not stay here. The location is not worth the experience of the crowds of cruise ship passengers and late night revelers, not to mention homeless and panhandlers. You can hear and feel the subway all night even on third floor. Walls are not sound proof, neighbor played radio for quite some time late in the evening. The hotel is horrible, staff is not helpful or pleasant. Our room had no desk or chair, nothing between mattress and sheet, safe too small to fit IPads. The bathroom sink had no cover over the drain, outlet for hair dryer had no cover. Would never meet code anywhere. I have better rags than the two towels provided. Two afternoons, we returned to uncleaned room. Both afternoons the key did not work. First time, we were told a computer problem. Second afternoon, they actually let us walk by front desk and never said anything. As I said, unpleasant staff and experience. Noticed most of the reviews did not receive a response. That tells it all. There are plenty of better places to stay.

Do not stay at this hotel unless you want to be overcharged for a prison cell. We got to the property and as soon as we opened the door to our room we were hit with the heat. The air conditioning was broken and all they put in place was a little fan which was blowing warm air back out. We asked to moved rooms or for someone to come fix the air con but we were just told it wasn’t possible to move rooms and that someone was coming tomorrow to fix it. The following day still no air con. We just kept getting told the same thing that someone was coming the following day. Our whole stay we found it difficult and uncomfortable to sleep. We had to sleep with our balcony doors open which wasn’t very safe. But either way we weren’t getting much sleep! The hotel staff were not very helpful or considerate to us and didn’t bother coming up with a resolution. When I spoke to them over the phone they then lied to me saying the air con was working just very weak and that they had upgraded our room to a balcony. But failed to mention this fact when i was there in person. Parts of the room definitely needed work doing. The toilet flush button kept popping off, the plug sockets had fallen off the wall and underneath it was covered in dust. And the sink tap was lifting from the wall basin and the safe was also broken. All of these things we could have over looked but the air con just toped it off. I would not recommend wasting your money here. It is no as it is advertised and they haven’t even offered a partial refund to me or anything to apologise. If I had of know the air con was broke. I could have found a cheaper places with no air con. I will definitely return back to Barcelona but would never stay back here at Hotel Ramblas International.
