Friendly staff that spoke enough English that we were able to get along fine. It was pretty close to the Termini train station, that would be a comfortable walk without luggage, but with luggage the taxi was very worthwhile. Typical small European room, but very nice. I would go back if I ever go to Rome again. The restaurant staff was not as friendly as the hotel staff. The breakfast was very acceptable.

I stayed here again because I had stayed there before and it was good. It's close to Termini Station and has a nice traditional atmosphere. The restaurant was excellent. The chief recommended a good wine. The appetizers and pasta were good, except the meat. When I checked in, there were 7-8 people at the reception who were not very efficient and were not functioning properly. It seemed like they were training two new employees. The room was quaint, but there was a lot of noise from the surrounding rooms.

I was slightly apprehensive before arriving at this hotel due to some of the reviews but we had a good stay. We stayed in a small double- and it was compact (the shower very much so!) but the bed was comfortable, I liked that there was a separate door between the bedroom and the "hallway" with a wardrobe and bathroom. I requested a quiet room and we got one overlooking a courtyard (not very attractive, but we were in Rome for the sights, not a view from a room we were sleeping in). We had good, undisturbed sleep. You have to request a key for the safe (rather than putting in a digital code) from reception and put down a deposit- not ideal but better than nothing. The breakfast was adequate- as others have said, the coffee was unplatable but there was a good selection of continental produce - I didn't have any hot food. The decor is lovely albeit looking tired. We had a good welcome and were able to check in immediately - a real bonus. It is further from some attractions, but only 15/20 mins from Trevi Fountain/Spanish Steps and 10 mins with luggage from the train station. For what we paid, it delivered what we needed and was good value for money.

Service is generally efficient without being friendly. The hotel in general in need of updating / renovating. Rooms outdated and not very clean….. dust under beds etc. View from our room was a rundown service area. The breakfast is very ordinary and on our last morning the hot food items were stone COLD in the warming trays. No muesli with crushed nuts instead. Given the relatively high price for the stay it was well below standard. As usual bar prices well overpriced… charged £14.50 for a Spritz!! Usually around 5-7£ Food in the restaurant was however very good and reasonably priced. Would i return… No!

Lovely hotel, oldie worldie, staff were helpful and friendly. Location is great - short walk to the main train station and to a metro station to get to the Vatican. Short walks to the Colosseum, Trevi fountain, pantheon and Spanish Steps. Buffet breakfast on the veranda each morning was lovely. Wide range of options available, but fresh fruit often ran out quickly and took some time to be replenished. Room was pretty okay - cleaned every day. Bar was lovely each evening, but be prepared the drinks are a little pricey.
