Upon our arrival at the hotel, the welcome was less than warm. The two females receptionists’ scrutinizing gazes felt unwelcoming. Once we arrived at our suite we inquired about the air conditioning during a warm March(75°) day, we were met with a condescending explanation, from the bellman, that it was still winter, and the hotel policy was not to operate the AC since it was winter. His suggestion was to open the windows, which we did due to the room’s excessive heat. However, the maid promptly activated the air conditioning during her service. The hotel Itself exuded a 1920s old-world allure, with a dark, moody, yet opulent ambiance. Both our suite and bathroom were elegantly appointed, though the shower’s compact size necessitated baths instead, which was a shift from our preference for showers. Not to mention, the bathtub had a leak. Despite our modest statures, my husband standing at 5’11” and myself at 5’2”, this posed a slight inconvenience. On a brighter note, breakfast at the Locarno was a culinary delight, offering a variety of scrumptious choices served with flawless hospitality. Subsequent interactions with the reception were markedly improved, thanks to the courteous and efficient assistance of two gentlemen who effortlessly arranged limousine transportation to the airport. The Locarno’s prime location was ideal for us, allowing for leisurely strolls to most destinations. The sole exception was a taxi ride to the Vatican, a decision made due to time constraints rather than distance.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Locarno for 2 nights on the tail end of our Italy vacation. The hotel and staff were wonderful. The staff was very accommodating even prior to our arrival. I emailed asking for help in securing dinner reservations and they were incredibly timely and helpful. Once we arrived, their high level of service continued! We had breakfast included in our stay and the food was very good. The hotel is centrally located and in close walking distance to many sights. I highly recommend Hotel Locarno and know we will stay there on future visits.

I can't say enough about this magical place! Most amazing service, amazing location, amazing food, courtyard everything. It changed our entire experience. Would go back any time.

The Locarno Hotel is special. The attention to detail, the warmth of welcome and the consistent attentiveness to guests' needs are all outstanding. As are the food and the cocktails and the different areas within the hotel in which to enjoy them.

Best Hotel In Rome. Great area. Great Beds and rooms. Great people ! GREAT BAR! We will stay there again. OLD School. Central Location. Big Rooms. Away from the craziness of Rome Tourist area. A place to relax from the NY-Rome experience. Love it.
