Another fabulous stay at the benchmark of Athens hotels. Again, 5 star service from Eri, George, Dimitri and Despina..but all staff encountered were fabulous. Old world classic elegance meets warm Greek hospitality! We have stayed many times and look forward to another "GB" experience. Bon Voy points make it more affordable.

Stayed several nights. You will not regret staying here. It's as much a destination as the local attractions. Roof pool to relax. An enclosed cigar lounge if you prefer. VERY well-stocked bar. Exceptional food. This is not traditional Greek food per se, but rivals Paris for its quality and taste! The main floor rest. and the bar is amazing. Go see it, but take your time and enjoy how well-appointed it is. The service is of the highest level; with an exceptionally trained staff. Concierge service is excellent as are bellmen and maid staff. Greece has mandatory military service for males and perhaps that accounts for the demeanor and bearing of the staff. Everyone them a gentleman. I did not have the time to use their spa. The Concierge set up an immaculate limo and expert guide for a day trip to the Oracle of Delphi. Centrally located to government offices and many shops and cafes. At least one bank and two money exchanges within one block of the hotel. The hotel does have an ATM also. Remember that many places, including money exchanges don't take AMEX, Visa, and MC only. The staff is very professional and makes sure you are not disturbed. However, If you choose to engage them, you will find they are friendly and personable. While there are unbelievable things to do and see in Athens, the Grand Bretagne could be its own destination.

This hotel was exceptional! The history, the rooms, the service… it was gorgeous. Our favorite parts were the extremely comfortable beds and the stunning rooftop restaurant and bar. If we go back to Athens, we will absolutely try to stay here again! It’s also within walking distance of the Parthenon, Acropolis and Museum, and Plaka!

Truly a grand hotel, our 5 night stay was nothing short of excellent. Each and every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and accommodating. We especially thank our concierge Nicholas for all his help in arranging our activities and great recommendations for dining and night life spots. Our room was beautiful and elegant, so many details, I loved the upholstered headboard and crystal chandelier. The bed was very comfortable with crisp but soft linens, we slept great! Beautiful marble bathroom with separate shower and decent size bathtub. We had room service one night - delicious! They gave us the option of having it delivered all together or in courses, that was a first for us, I was definitely impressed. The location is ideal, right in the heart of downtown, across from Parliament, the area was clean and safe to walk around at night. This hotel is definitely pricey but it’s a one-of-kind gem with a different feel, it transports you back in time as soon as you enter the front door, it’s worthy of royalty.

While the rooms may be a little dated in style the service and the friendly staff completely make up for it. The spa /pool/gym facilities are amazing. If I had any criticism it would be related to rooms on the first floor . You can hear the traffic noise if you have a room face the square, although the glazing is very good at blocking most of it out. There is also a cigar lounge on this floor so by late afternoon the corridors smell of smoke. Luckily this doesn’t infiltrate into the bedrooms. I would stay here again, especially when the roof top renovations are complete.
