Recently stayed at The Centre Point for four days in May 2024. Location wise the property is right in the middle of Police Bazar which is the biggest market in Shillong city; which gives you n number of options to eat, shop, and explore. The rooms have a classic heritage ambience and are spacious. The hospitality staff is very responsive and quick, special mentions to Virendra and Liza from the in-house dining staff, both are very warm, kind and welcoming. Had a great time overall

No regrets even though the stay was not perfect in this property..!!

During our recent trip to north-east I had booked this property for 3 nights. The booking was not done all at once but after spending each night I decided to extent for the next night. The reason I did that was initially I was not very sure about this property but in the end, I have no regrets for the extensions. This property does have its own pros and cons. First let’s talk about the pros. The property is situated in the best location. It’s really the centre point of the city. The front desk lady that I had interacted during my entire stay was very polite and helpful. The best part of their hospitality was they always made up and compensated for their misses. For example, the AC was not working the entire one night. To make it up for this, they had upgraded my room category to a higher category for my last night stay. This property does have some cons as well. Firstly, as mentioned above the AC in almost all their rooms do not function properly and the technicians are just not able to fix this somehow. Secondly, the hot water in their taps does not have the right temperature for bathing. In winters it might be an issue for travellers. For us it was OK and we managed it. Overall, giving this property 4 star instead of 3 star (1 more) just for their hospitality.

Located on Police Bazaar so very central location. My concern was that it might be noisy due to the traffic but I didn’t find that this was the case. I slept well. The room I was allocated had no wi-fi connection so my room was changed. No problem. The food at breakfast and evening was good with plenty of variety. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. The daily market was on the doorstep and well worth a walk around. Interesting styles of selling and variety of products. I am sure that there are more plush hotels in Shillong and more expensive ones but I thought that Centre Point was good value for money and I would recommend it.

The hotel is nicely made with a lot of woodwork being used. Sadly the ergonomics is totally off. The room layout is odd with a door separation between two rooms. The noise levels as a result are extremely high. Couldn't sleep a wink due to noisy neighbours. In the peak of winter, hot water was unavailable in taps. The response from the reception for any issue takes atleast 20 minutes to address. Couldn't get a wifi password despite repeatedly asking.

Rooms are small and in cold winter a thin comforter provided not a cozy room in comparison to tariff hotel is in very very chaotic place and if any one want to relax he or she can not relax room is small also
