What minimum do you expect in a hotel room? Well, I agree that color TV, room service, breakfast, free WiFi etc. etc. are all necessities in today's world. But imagine a hotel where you are denied natural air ventilation and forced to breathe air full of artificial room freshner smell. Yes that is what happened to us at Hotel Atul Palace, Agra. We by mistake booked this hotel online because it is close to Agra Cantt station, but having paid for this mistake in terms of discomfort and a sleepless night. The room allotted to us was barely 8 feet by 8 feet. Hot water refused to come even after a struggle of 40 minutes. Ultimately the hotel staff asked us to take bath in a room on a different floor. Mosquitoes were adding to our hardship. When we asked for Good knight or similar mosquito repellent, the staff didn't provide any and asked us to buy from outside. The staff was very rude and of arguing nature here. The main point of contention was that the rooms have no ventilation. Windows are sealed and made air tight. Once you close the room door, there is no fresh air supply and we felt suffocating. The worse part was that the staff had heavily sprayed a room freshner which was making us more uncomfortable. To flush out the smelly air to allow fresh natural air, we could only keep the main door open. But doing so would have been a security theat. So we dropped that idea and were forced to sleep in nearly suffocating manner. We were unable to sleep. When approached the duty staff member, he started arguing and refused to provide any relief. Dear tourists, blocking fresh air supply by sealing all windows making them air tight that too in a non-a/c room is a human rights violation. I appeal all of you not to choose this hotel. In reality, a small building having a milk shop named Atul Dairy is converted into a congested mini lodge. To call it a hotel is like calling a pig an elephant. This is not a hotel. Actually whoever has given permission for this hotel is at fault. The licence of this hotel Atul Palace should be cancelled. Calling this dormitory a "Palace" is like calling a rat an elephant. I have tried to write this review in a non-biased manner and hope that it will help my fellow tourists. Thanks.

Food was also very nice and in budget. Room was average. You can get a cab or auto just outside the hotel. Only thing it is very far from shopping area. And there is no lift. But be careful monkeys are roaming around.gud hotel.
