Firstly, in the lift I feared for my life! Felt so unsafe. The hotel was cold, bare and grubby. The rooms… the bed was like sleeping on concrete with one scratchy pillow. So dark, dingy and cold. I now have a bad back and severe shoulder pain, so uncomfortable. The bathroom was the size of a broom cupboard, the shower was dangerous as so small you couldn’t turn around and you’d fall on the silly step inside, shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold. The electric sockets in the room were hanging off the walls - very unsafe. Not to mention staff entered our room early hours in the morning on two occasions and said “oh sorry” & left when we got up and asked what they were doing?? Breakfast shouldn’t even be called breakfast it is in a cold mouldy room underground and is a machine terrible coffee and watered orange juice, 3 mouthfuls in a plastic cup, a croissant and a piece of sweet bread, the toaster was out of order, who wants dry bread for breakfast. I am so disappointed and at £120 this is far far below expectations, I understand it’s budget but this was very unsafe and unhygienic and 100% overpriced. The dust in the room was inches thick. The staff there was a different young boy there every evening. The hotel made you feel dirty.

Unfortunately have to agree with the last reviews. Absolute shocker. Dirty , grubby and overpriced. Only stayed for one night and that was one night too much. There were actually asylum seekers / immigrants staying there. Never ever again.

Booked 3 nights. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Said no pets but there were pets. Breakfast was a massive joke. Complaints not taken seriously. Will not use this hotel again. Don't waste your money.

This was horrendous experience that lasted no more than 7 hours. Bitten by god knows what, filthy beyond belief. Left the key at the front desk and fled. Luckily we were able to book the Hotel Diana just along the street and had a wonderful stay. Worth every penny. Do not even think of booking the Altavilla. The list of complaints are too numerous to mention. I have stayed in better hotels in 3 rd world countries that are a cut above this hovel.

I cannot stress how BAD this hotel is, we were put in a small damp bedroom at the back of the hotel, beds were stained, small and uncomfortable, the bathroom was a joke, shower unusable - so we asked to be moved. The breakfasts were a joke, in a windowless cellar at plate table with plastic cups and knife n forks, everything wrapped in plastic - nothing fresh - horrible. I accidentally left my wallet behind after leaving for Venice - I tried ringing e mailing getting Italian friends to call and write, they respond once to say they would look ...they never got back after that, they hung up on every call relating to the loss. TOTALLY unhelpful. The managers and the owners need reality check. Do not think this is budget - it is much worse.
