Buyer Beware- What you Book May Not Be What You Get!

Buyer beware - I reserved a specific room type here 6 months in advance as I was travelling with teens and needed bed configurations that would accommodate us. Less than 48 hours before check in I was notified that this room was no longer available but they would book us into a room with a king bed. Obviously this would not work for our group and I was quite frustrated that they left it so late to inform us. We had a stressful scramble to find something else last minute and ended up paying much more! To top it off, I then got a text asking how my stay was! Really disappointed in how this was handled.

Misinformation at Check In

Upon my arrival at the Homewood Suites Seattle Downtown on Western at 11:30am the gentleman at the desk told us our room was available and we could check in for $25 now or just wait 30 minutes to check in. We opted for the 30 minutes and waited in the area near check in. At 12pm we were told no rooms were available and to wait. It’s now after 1:30pm and am being told no guarantees before 4pm. This is ridiculous because we would have just paid the $25 if we knew the room could not be available anymore in 30 minutes. Now it’s just shrugged shoulders. Why would this not be info you convey? It’s bad business. A simple there are no guarantees could have solved this issue and our frustration at the start of our vacation.

Smart choice in downtown Seattle

Amazing stay and glad i made right choice though just me and my sister traveling. The room is suuuuuuper big, queen bed is two bedroom with a living room~ and the social hour is great idea and really friendly for people traveling both for family or leisure. Breakfast selection is not much but right to what you usually eat. Highlight is the location, sooooo close to all the iconic spots, sapce niddle, Kerry Park and Olympic Sculptures park. Price is so reasonable. And when i check out in the morning on 25th of April, the receptionist also checking my stay experience, well trained, i would say! Will return, if with families.

This is a very nice hotel artfully wedged on a corner. The overall decor was tasteful and pleasant. Our king bed room with a bay view was very large and meticulously clean. We paid for the parking package so it was less expensive. Our F150 nearly skimmed the ceiling of the garage. The ceiling was built with thick material hanging from it. I am completely ignorant of what it was and I determined not to guess. There was also pay-parking outside. The room had a large living room then a kitchen area adjacent to the restroom. The refrigerator made a weird noise the entire visit. The restroom had one sink and a tub/shower. The shower was invigorating. The room had popcorn ceilings, but care was obviously taken to edge in updating the flooring, paint and so forth. WiFi was quick. The general lighting was plentiful and each bedside lamp had USB ports and a plug. The view was great. Of course, you gaze across a very busy street and there is some noise; however, the view knocked back the noise and it was forgotten. Neither did it disturb the sleep of this insomniac. The furnishings were sturdy and in excellent condition. The bedding was lovely. The heater was quick to respond. It was unnecessary to get up and down all night to readjust the temperature. Unfortunately, the bed was a bit tired. It did not offer enough support for our older backs. Nonetheless, we slept well. There was broccoli-cheese soup, garlic-cheese rolls which I really liked, and salad, and a beer included in the evening social. My spouse had 2 bowls of the soup; I had two spoonfuls. The broccoli tasted too ripe or as from a can of the vegetable instead of fresh. I am picky. The hostess was friendly and professional. Our welcome included 2 bottles of water and some tasty cookies. I would stay again if the bed was firm and comfy. Overall, it was a delightful respite.

Good location for waterfront

Located the waterfront area, and very close to where I was working. I managed to get a high room with water view. The view was pretty nice! The room was huge, with a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Only the bedroom had AC and or heating. The decor was a little dated and some of the furniture could do with some repair. Kitchen area was well equipped though. Shower was OK but a little weak on water pressure. Breakfast was nice
