My wife and I checked in last night for a 5-night stay. We checked out this morning. The bed's "mattress" is the size of a business card (see photo) and isn't even cushioned or padded. It was a woven plastic sponge filling. Also, the "mattress" is on a hardwood board. It honestly would have been more comfortable sleeping on the carpet. Plus, there were stains on the sheets (see photo). Your call, but I'd stay away.

Rise of the robots

Very small rooms as expected, but modern and had everything needed. Quiet and well located with a subway and JR line stop on the doorstep. Nice restaurants and a few bars nearby. Could have done with an extra (or bigger) pillow. Robots fun and actually worked fine for us checking in and out. We also found the LG styler useful for refreshing clothes at the end of the day, although it does take up space that would probably be better used by something else.

All hype on the robot side of things

We were very excited about the robot hotel but found it underwhelming. There are two robots at the check in and that is it. When you first get there you are like ‘woah check them out that’s freaky’ but you can’t actually interact with them until 3pm when check in is, you can’t get near them before that. The check in didn’t work.... we had to get checked in by a human lol. The room was tiny. Very good shower and decent products to use. The clothes refresher was a waste of valuable space.... not really sure what the point of it was. The internet in this hotel was good and quick. They give you a smart phone to use during your stay and use for WiFi. I didn’t take advantage of this unfortunately, but great idea...

Huge problems at check-in

I wanted to try this hotel because I heard of their "robots". Unfortunately the check-in system didn't work at all. So I had to call the staff, and after some minutes a man arrived. He wasn't kind at all, and he wanted to see my passport. I live in Japan so for the japanese law I don't need to bring my passport with me, I have a residence card. He was a kind of "upset" and he told me it was a problem because I didn't have my passport, so I couldn't sleep there: Of course IT'S NOT TRUE and so I told him that for the japanese law I must have just the residence card. In many years in Japan I never had to provide my passport to an hotel, NEVER. Then he disappeared with my residence card, he made a copy of it and then finally he could let me to go to my room. There was just one elevator and often busy, the room was small but it's normal in Tokyo. So I couldn't interact with robots, it means that it was just a kind of "normal hotel" without any staff. Not good at all.

The most fun hotel stay, ever.

Brilliant experience right from walking out of the lift. The hotel is on the first floor, right next to a family mart. Checking in is easy and superb fun. We are middle aged and thoroughly enjoyed it! The room is stylish and very well thought out. The LG styler is a bit scary, but we bravely put all of our clothes in there whilst we showered and they came out looking good, much to our relief, as they were all we had with us!! Didn't investigate the bar, but the view at night time from the roof was amazing. The most fun hotel stay ever.
