Having arrived in Hanoi at 2-3am on the nightbus, we were able to get the last room in this hostel. They were happy to open up to us and welcome us in, show us around and then offer us a hearty breakfast in the morning. The room was clean, the aircon worked well, and the bathroom was ok. It was a shame the shower did not work in the morning after we had had such a long journey. Would recommend for a night to any tired backpacker.

The only reason I decided to stay here was because my regular hostel was completely booked due it being Mid-Autumn Festival. So I ended up spending 25k Dong more to stay here than I normally would have. At first glance, the hostel is clean and in a safe location, but it wasn't without it's problems. When I first checked in, the hot water wasn't working, so I ended up taking a cold shower, which in the warmer months isn't really an issue, but during the colder months, I couldn't imagine what that must be like! They did eventually get the hot water working. However, there's only one bathroom for every dozen or so beds, so if you need to use the toilet while someone is taking a shower, you may end up waiting for a good 10-15 mins. And make sure to bring your own soap and/or shampoo as they don't generally keep any stocked in the bathrooms, either. Second was the construction going on at the building directly across the street. It's a rather narrow back-alley street. I could spit from one side to the other (not exaggerating). So at 7am, the last thing I want to wake up to after a long night out is the sound of construction equipment, which permeated the entire building! It was unbearable! Finally, the Wi-Fi was horrendous! My bed was all the way at the end of the room and the Wi-Fi signal just didn't reach far enough, so I only picked up about one bar. It was a struggle to get any websites to load at all. However, they do have ONE computer downstairs if you're really in a bind and need to use internet urgently. Overall, not a very pleasant experience. I think I'll stick to my usual hostel and avoid going to Hanoi during the major holidays again.

Fantastic location, perfect for sightseeing, the staff and owners really make thus a warm and welcoming home from home. My room, whilst perhaps a little jaded, was ideal for my stay and my comings and goings, all in all a lovely stay. The staff booked trips for me, arranged taxis, gave advice and assistance where required. If they book Sa Pa for you, please ensure they do not book Queen Bus sleeper bus, there are alternative and whilst I am told none are great, these are appalling, they treat westerners like second class citizens and make no attempt to hide it.

I stayed there on my first arrival to Hanoi and liked it very much. All attractions are of walk distance. Very good vibe: staff always smily, very friendly, always helpful, and funny. Serve lovely breakfast. Room are cleaned everyday. Beds are comfortable. And the price is really good. Aranged me tours to Ninh binh and halong bay for good price. That is why stayed there again when I was back from Sapa.
