We really enjoyed our one night here. The staff were very accommodating and gave us some complimentary wine on our arrival. They upgraded our room too! It was very comfortable and close to the center of the historic district. We went to the rooftop bar and had a drink while we waited to go to dinner. They know how to make any drink you want!

Great hotel, comfortable bed, lovely room , clean and well appointed. Service excellent. Rooftop bar amazing views and great service . Would like to stay longer ! Location great for gothic quarter and la Rambla . Cannot recommend highly enough !

We are a family of four and booked two rooms. We were informed a couple days prior to checking in that they were “reopening” our check in day and most services were available. When we checked in (with no line) they had 6 people working the front desk and it took 30 or more minutes to get us complete and they said our room wasn’t ready yet. It was 230pm and 3pm was check in time, but it was the first day they reopened so I don’t know how they couldn’t be ready! We went to our rooms and they were small but fine. When we took showers later that evening we noticed they transitioned from extremely hot to cold and back and forth. It was so hot that I worried my younger daughter would burn herself. So I called and the nice front desk personnel came up and tried it and confirmed our experience. They said they’d try to get it fixed. They were unable to do so with maintenance so they said my option was to walk down the hall to another room to shower or go to wellness center. I tried the other room’s shower the next morning and it did the same thing as our two room showers. The general manager spoke with us and said she didn’t see what we were talking about and made it out like we were fabricating the situation, very unprofessional. She never followed up with us after she said she was staying the night in the hotel to try it out herself. The last of four nights I asked to speak with her, they said she would be available when we returned, and when we came back she had left for the evening. She offered $150 for use in the hotel bar (which we tried the first night and was disappointed they were serving $20 drinks in plastic cups) or restaurant. Since we didn’t know about the credit ahead of time, we had already had a reservation we couldn’t change last minute at another, so we tried to go to the bar again and they didn’t have the wine listed on the menu in stock. There were many instances of not being ready to open, only 2 of all floor in the hotel were open and the others were still under construction which we would hear from our rooms too. For a five star hotel, the general manager was lacking BIG, the rest of the personnel was nice, but definitely not worth the price per room whatsoever. The location was the best part of the hotel but the street in front was under major construction too. The kicker is they never refunded the deposit upon checkin and now I’m dealing with that! Stay away from here until they have new management in my opinion. So many other options.

This was a revisit, for cocktails and late lunch in the restaurant, as I'd remembered it from a fabulous stay here in 2016. The problem with Barcelona is us. 120,000 visitors per day on average, who come to look, learn, explore, eat, and leave. Nevertheless, this iconic hotel, right on one of the main thoroughfares, treated us as if we were the only folks they'd seen in a week. No idea how you have the patience to do that. And it has a service and food to match. Two cocktails to start, a light late lunch, an hour to chill after a hectic morning at the Sagrada, this was the perfect antidote. This hotel and restaurant are elegant, poised, welcoming, discreet and special. It is a fabulous hotel and restaurant. The thing that caught my eye above all, is the utterly gorgeous artwork in the formal dining room. I've taken the liberty of copying it from the hotel website. I lost my photo of it, sadly. Cue a revisit for that alone. We are grateful for the welcome, for the service we received and for the fare.

Fab hotel in a great area. It was really nice after a day's sightseeing to relax by the pool or have a drink at the rooftop bar. The bedrooms are nicely furnished and staff helpful. Would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting Barcelona
