Mediocre Stay at Eden Loche

This hotel was a bit of a disappointment. It's more like a modern air-b-and-b than a hotel. There is a revolving door of staff at the "front desk", which is basically a chair at the corner of a bustling caffè. Staff ranged from friendly to indifferent, depending on who was there. Most disappointingly, the showers and sinks do not function well and create constant pools of water in the bathroom and kitchen after use. The rooms are dark and somewhat claustrophobic, though they are clean. The kitchen is convenient to have. Overall, for the amount of money you pay, it's fine, but I wouldn't rate it beyond 3.5-4 stars tops.

Exceeded our expectations. Immaculate, well appointed and comfortable. Could have stayed for weeks! Delicious food in the cafe too. Perfect location close to the centre in lovely George Street.

Centrally located in the New Town tourist district. This is either a positive or negative depending on the goals of your stay. Solid staff that is polite and helpful. The rooms themselves are nicely sized, clean, and well appointed. Very useful to have laundry. The only minor complaint is that mine was a little dark and lacking of natural light. Small problem all things considered and would certainly return.

Nice hotel , location was good the staff were all friendly and professional , the check in and check out where very smooth , room was nice and clean , we enjoyed our stay and felt like home definitely coming back next time visiting Edinburgh…..

We loved our stay at Eden Locke. We are a family of 3 visiting Edinburgh for a University open day, so the mini-suite was perfect and made more sense than booking 2 rooms. Kirsty on reception was fab, allowing us to check in early as our room was ready. The suite was spotless and immaculate. Breakfast in the independantly run Mavyn cafe was delicious. Can't fault anything! Don't hesitate to book, you'll love it!
