I spent 4 nights at the Hotel Dom Carlos Liberty in early April and while there were both pros and cons, I thought the advantages outweighed the disadvantages. Pros: Very helpful staff, freely available flavored water and “honor bar,” good breakfast buffet, good location. Cons: My double room was very, very small; it had two twin beds rather than a double bed; there was a lot of street noise both late at night and early in the morning; and the line for coffee at breakfast was sometimes much too long.

Nice hotel with comfortable beds. All the reception staff were excellent during our stay. Breakfast area can get a bit busy after 8.30. We had breakfast one morning at 7.30 and there was no queue. Nice choices for breakfast, including fresh fruit.

We had an end unit so it was large enough with small suitcases. The AC worked great and it was very quiet with the windows closed. The hotel is tired with old carpet throughout. There is very little in room amenities. No Lotion . A great nesspresso-like coffee maker BUT they only fill it ONCE. We were here three days and were told the first time is a gift then you have to pay. Breakfast is adequate but the line for the coffeemaker can be 6-7 deep and take 15 minutes in-line waiting for one cup of coffee. They should have coffee urns for those not wanting to wait. The front desk was friendly but u willing to bend and give us more coffee. We paid almost $200/night and they wouldn’t refill the coffee pods. Parking is not near by so you need to unload then go to one of th e any parking garages. We wouldn’t stay here again.

A great location if you are working in Lisbon: close to public transportation and walking distance to tourist areas. Lovely staff. The main problem is the room: if there are two of you ( I came with my husband on a business trip), there was hardly any space to open two small suitcases. Also the room was stuffy and we couldn't adjust the temp because it's central heating/ cooling. In short: not built for comfort.

A lovely hotel situated just off Avenida Liberdade, close to Marquis de Pombal (Blue line on the metro), the hotel afforded me a quiet room with all the necessary amenities for a sound nights sleep. The breakfast was very nice and constantly restocked in a comfortable dining area. The staff were friendly and always helpful. Its location is brilliant as you’re 15 minute walk to most tourist options and/or very close to connecting Metro stations.
